T/error – Unspeakable Cults – Electric Eclectics Ghost Series [FUND018EE029]

Fundamental Records’ electro music project called ”Electric Eclectics” comes with the additional ”Ghost Series”, that literally fit perfectly in the remaining space of the ”Electric Eclectics” box. Each record is a picture of the electro music released in the line that Fundamental Records has us accustomed. Talk about the music itself is something that Fundamental Records try to avoid in each release, if you want to know why you only have to check the project Music for The Other People Place to find out more about their philosophy.

On the backside of the insert there will be anecdotes and pictures from the archives. Midgar want to pay tribute to the Pompeian duo, whose life has been entirely dedicated to music. Area Forty_One – Nocturnal Passions Part III [DSR/E9]

Three years have passed since the latest outing from Area Forty_One. The low-profile Dutch producer makes a welcome return to Delsin with four of his intergalactic explorations. It’s the third and final part of his Nocturnal Passions EP series on the label and once again a fine spaced-out collection of ambient, deep sea techno, downtempo grooves and icy electro blending into cinematic soundscapes. It’s an absorbing and thoughtful entirety, ticking all boxes for fans of deep and powerful electronica.

Nick Klein – Jesus Takes The Wheel [V029]

‘Jesus Takes The Wheel’ with Big Nick on the back seat cruising through techno town with this typical The Hague sounding 4 tracker. No stopping for anything leaving hitchhikers along the cold wet streets with tire tracks all over.

Credit 00 – The Rejects [OTF002]

The Ratlife boss brings the noise with a cluster of hardwired dancefloor bombs. ‘Broken Glass Everywhere’ with broken snares ricochet off gutter-clank, clearing a path through shattered electronics and electro-murk. ‘Reject’ gears up for a dawn raid, inciting an illicit beat over janked-up loner funk, stalking empty streets for scraps. ‘Harder Faster Slower’ parades onto the B-side like a half-crazed maniacal grind show. Mardi gras drum rolls rattle over clown metal, drilled by chopped vox stabs ’n screwed hysterics. ‘Ghostride’ brings the reject party to a close, pointing a spectral finger to the exit before lending a sleazy hand for one last late-night runaround.

Boy Harsher – Country Girl Uncut LP [NUDE012LP]

Self-styled “minimal synth duo” Boy Harsher has released some fine music over the last few years, though little quite as on-point and majestic as 2018’s “Country Girl” EP. Here they offer up a new-look “uncut” edition of the stylish set, which expands the original four-track set via a quartet of previously unreleased recordings from the same period. You’ll find the original EP – complete with the throbbing but picturesque “Motion” and dreamy “Country Girl” – on side A, with the bonus material on the flip. Of these, we’re particularly enjoying the gentle pulse of “Underwater”, and the “Please” era Pet Shop Boys flex of “Send Me A Vision” and “Westerners”.

GOTT – EP [UV051]

After 1/2 GOTT comes GOTT. Once again, Sneaker from Dresden/Berlin and Scannoir from Zurich have locked themselves up in the studio to translate their love for EBM and dark synth pop into striking dance floor material. The successor to their debut EP on Uncanny Valley, which introduced open-minded dancers to the self-proclaimed New Swiss Wave last year opens up with TOTAL KOMMANDER, a hard rocking drum workout that makes you want to march ahead of a demonstration after you’ll leave the club. EN BLICK UFS MATTERHORN is a tribute to playful Minimal Synth and a declaration of love to the fun that two like-minded people have when producing music. And then we have PASSION, a 15-minute monster of a track, that carries all the qualities of GOTT to the extreme: unique arrangements with a surprising build-up, whipping drum work and an atmosphere that can be both intimidating and soothing.
