Two Dogs In A House – Dog House [LIES002]

Debut release by Two Dogs in a House comprised of Jason Letkiewicz (Steve Summers, Maloveaux, RBL) and Ron Morelli of the L.I.E.S. label. Continuing in the tradition of producing old school analog house tracks with a twist, LIES 002 takes it to the more melancholy side of the Chicago and New York spectrum with brooding basslines and hand played melodies.

Slam & Harri – Atlantis Mix (Old School Classics)
Delphic – Doubt [PM001]

Another unlikely yet highly successful remix excursion for Delphic, picking up an uber-limited one-sided rerub from Detroit’s Kyle Hall. There’s practically no trace of the original to be heard, just a damn fine exhibition of Motor City techniques, shaking slightly broken drums under filtered and flanged keys, locking into a sweetly sensual loop of house magic.
Peverelist – Better Ways Of Living [DRUNK017]

Peverelist drops two righteously forward riddims for Punch Drunk. The Bristol ringleader has built his rep on quality, not quantity and these tracks bear testament to his principled and stringently executed approach. ‘Better Ways Of Living’ nods to the pared down 808 aesthetic of Swamp 81 with a brittle bustling beat scaffold acting like monkey bars for a piped synth organ to twist, scuttle and roll around in, while ‘Fighting Without Fighting’ continues the rhythmically busy flex with slick dipping edits and bespoke dub measurements applied in a future jungle-hardcore style.

Discreet Unit – Shake Your Body Down [PN09]

“Shake Your Body Down Spiraling” out of an original live studio jam, this track has been tearing up clubs this summer. Showing due respect for early Chicago acid house & first-wave Detroit techno,it reverberates with the influences and atmospheres experienced amidst the clubs and out-door parties of 89-94, yet sounds like the here & now. “Twilight Another” edited live Discreet Unit session, flowing in and out of a huge pulse line, the track just sounds just like it should.
