Orpheu The Wizard @ Dekmantel Selectors 2024

The second volume of Byron The Aquarius’ Dey Know on Phonogramme. Four serious grooves on a green coloured vinyl.

Jeroen Böhm with his new project Occurred Error on Non Stop Rhythm.

Non Stop Rhythm presents a new release from Mystery Friend, a producer from Buenos Aires. His search and musical selection delves into the origins of House music, reviving the nostalgia of the club sound of the 80’s and early 90’s, but maintaining that youthful freshness of the new generation.

Forest Jams continues the journey into the great beyond with Mori Ra’s Mantra–an EP composed of four edits created for any inquisitive earthling and forest wanderer.

Anorax has got a vital 10″ here featuring a stone cold classic Balearic house tune from Don Carlos in two different mixes. First is the Paradise mix which is as Ibiza as house music gets – the swirling pads, the subtly joyous feeling in the piano chords, the blistered bassline. It all immediately transports you to the White Isle and gazing out to see as the sun sets and the party ratchets up a gear. On the flip is a Lute Mix which brings some more mellifluous melodies and makes the drums a little more bouncy.

The italian trio Mamosato composed of Paolo Macri, Cristian Sarde and Emanuele Montalto, come back to squeeze a new lemon.

Roman Flügel returns to Phantasy Sound with his second release of 2024 on Erol Alkan’s beloved London label, ‘No Solutions EP’. ‘No Solutions’ expands Flügel’s contributions to Phantasy into a triple track delight, another generous expression of his lifelong immersion in electronic music culture.

The Beat Boy Wonder returns to Parkway this fall with his brand new single “Desire” Hard to pin down, Trey’s music is part freestyle, part hi-nrg, part electro, part Italo synth-pop, but always rooted in the traditions of the NYC dancefloor.

Clone Jack For Daze on a roll with Tom Carruthers up next. Tom delivering trax that will make you jack all night long. The 4 track EP reflects a keen ear for detail and a deep appreciation for retro-futuristic influences that made the genre. No nonsense classic bleepy techno with lush strings and contrasting metalic basslines fierce enough to keep the energy flowing till sunrise.

Shonky debuts on Wicked Bass with ‘The Way It Goes’, an EP of spooky and minimalistic house/techno.

Red Laser Records continue their stellar form with another knockout release, blending Manctalo fire from old hands and fresh faces alike. Frank Butters opens the EP with The Call Of The Wild, a dazzling blast of crystalline synths, thunderous bass, and cosmic effects that showcase his forward-thinking production skills. Bob Swans delivers ‘Bodyform4U’, a dreamy arpeggiated groove that builds an uplifting, futuristic atmosphere, perfect for igniting the dancefloor. Lone Saxon switches things up with ‘Hypersleep’ a breakbeat-infused piano gem that oozes nostalgic charm, before Franz Scala and Il Bosco finish strong with Webo, a late-night, tension-filled Manctalo banger.

Hotmix presents a new release by Legowelt and the Dutch Master delivered a fantastic 2 tracker on a white ten inch record.

Legowelt returns to Clone Records with yet another sonic journey that defies conventional electronic music boundaries, offering an album that is as eclectic as it is immersive. Blending different styles and textures seamlessly and proving that electronic music can still be creative and that function doesn’t always prevail style. He delivers a collection that transports listeners through a kaleidoscope of retro-futuristic sounds, deep grooves, and cosmic melodies. Despite being in the music game for more than 25 years the music from Danny Wolfers remains playful and refreshing. Stylistically taking elements from his whole musical career and not commiting to the latest trend or any genre specifically, and low-key taking the piss with everyone who takes themself to seriously. While many electronic music artists are stuck in their own void, busy pleasing the big room, Legowelt meticulously crafts rich textured soundscapes, balancing between cosmic exploration and the dancefoor, that evoke both nostalgia and futuristic visions. His ability to fuse elements of house, techno, disco and electro with cinematic influences results in an album that is not only ready for club use but also gratifying at home. Each track offers something unique–whether it’s the hypnotic rhythms, the lush synth lines, or the subtle, eerie undertones that creep in unexpectedly. Legowelt’s attention to detail and passion for his craft shine through, making this album a worthy follow up to his last album on the Clone Jack For Daze series.

Dutch label Brew returns with more moody techno that is both deep yet impactful. It’s Robert Bergman at the helm and ‘3 AM’ is his opening gambit. It has ghostly voices shimmering across the beats with a menacing low end, rugged bassline and scaring percussive sounds. ‘#5’ is another fresh sound with great sound designs and alluring rhythms and last of all is ‘Drum Trax’ which is a third and final blend of nostalgic and futuristic house tropes for heady basements.

Señor Chugger, a prolific Bristol-based producer and remixer, makes his debut on Wrong Era with an EP filled with his unique blend of euphoric synth lines and sophisticated, arcane themes. His music immerses listeners in a synth-ridden realm, offering a collection of instant classics. The EP, ‘Sunset On The A38’ , also includes remixes from Wrong Era Label heads Sesto Senso and fellow label affiliate Radondo.

Napoli based Gigi Testa brings the heat yet again on his third Rush Hour Store Jams release with some spicey Sichuan flavours, straight from the Dragon Temple.
