Token returns with the second instalment of Fuga. Spread across eight tracks once more, the release continues in the same vein as its predecessor presenting a collection of reduced techno recordings in equal parts atmospheric as they are functional. Fuga II provides a continuation of the motifs and constructions explored in the first entry, advancing them to some degree and introducing new characters to Token, whilst maintaining a sense of cohesion within the series itself, and the label as a whole.

Orbe is the long going Madrid based funk and techno veteran. His first release of 2020 is the 10th release on his own ORBE imprint. Fernando Sanz has been steadfastly dedicated to the craft of beats and breaks, under the imprint Orbe Records, he has cultivated his own thriving techno community as artist and label head. Sanz forthcoming 3-track ‘Hohenheim’ EP for the Barcelona label, Lone Romantic, keeps the Orbe buzz rolling. ‘Hohenheim’ kicks the record into motion with the resounding thuds of a multilayered big-room kick while bright synths and sharp edged sci-fi machinery climb the walls in obscure and narcotic patterns. ‘Shimano’s Tribute’ is a study in the fundaments of techno that lull the listener with an extended 4X4 intro into a state of high mental absorption, just in time to drop the centre piece of the track, an eloquently ovular stutter sliced percussion sample. ‘Edelweiss’ sets the record on a outward course for somewhere between the hypnotic dance floor bliss of a pre-dawn Sunday morning and the impending angst beholden to glimpsing the dystopian sprawl of civilisation when flying out Monday morning.
Orbe is no stranger to the hypnotic side of techno, and his newest release on Eric Cloutier’s recently created Palinoia label properly allows the Spanish artist to do what he does best. Four tracks of deep, psychedelic techno, all slightly twisted and quirky in their own way, the entire EP is perfect for those headsdown nights deep in to the morning on the dancefloor of your favorite darkened club.
The idea of purity is always recurring when talking about techno. Although purism has long been relegated to a mere excuse for fear, when understood not as vindication of a certain dogma, but as a way of approaching creative expression, purity is, as a matter of a fact, inseparable from the genre. After all, techno is something like the pursuit of transcendence – either visceral, cerebral or spiritual – through the strictly necessary means only. The search of the truest forms by just outlining them. All of this brings us to the story of ‘Uniformity’, Orbe’s first release for Hivern.
The new Analog Solutions 018 presents a various artists, by Kristina and ORBE, that combine an EP with a personal character, full of floating arrangements and inherently techno flavor, but sophisticatedly Dub. It seems that the label Analog Solutions will take refuge next references on collaborations lauching a series of various artists so better to be alert.
Coherence is a new vinyl only series from Be As One, a channel of expression with a different approach than the main label catalogue. A NASA satellite has confirmed the ancestral tradition of the -music of the spheres-, that celestial bodies emit harmonic sounds. Although the music of the spheres has led first to the notion of universal harmony and then symmetry, it has now been discovered that the Sun s atmosphere actually emits ultrasonic sounds and interprets a score formed by waves that are about 300 times more severe than tones that can be captured the human ear. This time, ORBE represents these sounds.
