Inigo Kennedy – Emitter / Collector [TOKEN032]
After deeper excursions on January’s grand ‘Cathedral’, Inigo now strikes back with a monumental new 2 tracker. Both tracks emerged from the same studio session and definitely complement each other. While the pounding drums are omnipresent on this release, ‘Emitter’ leaves us euphoric, while ‘Collector’ is less explosive, more persistent.
Dasha Rush – Interception Of Arts [FP020]
Triple track Ep with some serious banging and trippy techno. Opening with a bombastic frantic banger, followed by a Mils inspired minimal and funky techno cut, finishing the ep with a deep dark cut.
Donor / Truss – Aber [MRECLTDGS005]
Despite the watery divide between them, Brooklyn-bound Greg Schappert and London-based Tom Russell have fostered a production partnership as Donor / Truss for the last six years, emerging today as one of technos more robust and hardworking duos. For Grey Series 05 they don the Donor / Truss moniker once again after a spell apart, proving themselves as accomplished and unpredictable as ever with the fully formed ‘Aber’. On the A-side swampy techno is bruised with house in “Spacial”, turning soupy on the sluggish and barely rippling “Beneath”. Fidgety “Ease” then does an about turn on the B-side before plunging headlong into swollen substrata stuff on the close.

DEMENT3D Records presents : Polar Inertia Remixed // DM3D005 The story may be quite standard, nevertheless, we feel this record is really special. Last year, in Paris, among all the promoters that made this kind of ”techno riot” happen, there was ”The Only Way Out.”. It’s been found guilty for Silent Servant’s and Abdulla Rashim’s first appearances in the french capital. We’ve had the honour of sharing these line ups with them, finally getting in touch, and starting conversations that ultimately ended up being a record : dedicated to remixing Polar Inertia’s first two ”EP-sodes”. So that’s it, ”Major Axis” has been handled by Silent Servant, ”Black Sun” transfigured by Abdulla Rashim, and our in-house champion Francois X has made a very special treatment to ”The Last Vehicle”. We are positively thrilled about this one.

Echo 106 debuted with the well received Broken Hi-Hat Machine and returns with this masterful full length. He grabs influence from classic electro, Chicago house, Detroit tech and throws down a distinct sound and flavor true to his own. 17 tracks in total, and some beautiful pieces on there.

Hank Jackson is from Southern California, but he calls Brooklyn home. This is his debute release for Mister Saturday Night, raw jacking and raging Chicago rooted techno tracks.

Mr. G – Retrospective [REKIDS012]
Illuminating compilation of trax from stalwart London producer Colin McBean, spanning a decade and half. The man himself talks of his “soulful, twisted low-end funk sound” and he’s right on the money: his productions have found fans in disparate factions of the underground, from the afterparty tech-house set to the UK bass upstarts, via the deeper house heads. Long before he began his association with Rekids, the label behind this compilation, G was rolling out gold on his own Phoenix G and labels like Defected, Duty Free, Shuffled, End, Tag and Careless, under such aliases as The Reaver, Mango Boy and Halcyon Daze. For this 21-track comp he’s selected his own highlights from this vast body of work, and it’s effectively the most potent cache of secret weapons that a DJ could hope to stumble upon this year. Of the Mr G-assigned cuts pay special heed to the bass-licked warehouse thump of ‘Hear Me Out’, the jazzwise tribalism of ‘Jet Black’, the priapic boogie-tech of ‘Shelter (Unreleased Version)’ and the headier Detroit stylings of ‘G’s Strings’, while the lockstep discoid bounce of The Reaver’s ‘Mmmm’ and Mango Boy’s sickly minimal, psychedelic ‘Potion’ also impress.

Neinzer – And Again [YUME001]
Fresh new UK label with two killer tracks that will turn some heads. Amazing piece of house music that is working like madd without using the standard cliche’s. A accomplishment by this young producer Neinzer in these days of ‘looking back’! Opening with a funked up track that goes somewhere between things we know from Shake and Recloose but comparing it to others isn’t doing the track any justice. Flip side cranks the tempo up and gives a mad techno piece with some sample trickery
