Gavin Guthrie (this time as TX Connect) delivers three of his most ambitious cuts for our listening pleasure. Conceptualized as a document to a very special night in Texas during the early winter of 2018, TX Connect raises the temperature utilizing acid heat in these three otherworldly cuts that fully illustrate the analog brilliance and multifocal dance floor dazzling that his reputation always delivers. For the ones who missed out on that awe-inspiring Mutant Wave party, here is your chance to teleport to a place that won’t soon be forgotten. Mutated sound waves and dance floor intensity are in full effect.

VA – T.R.U. Halloween EP [TRUHWN001]

TX Connect’s Gavin Guthrie is a horror soundtrack enthusiast and regularly DJs gigs with that premise. So it’s no surprise that he’d produce an EP that implements these themes. The T.R.U. Halloween EP is a special edition EP that collects and compiles 5 tracks from Gavin’s inner circle that range from 80’s era horror soundtrack chase scene music to dark techno. With the recent surgence of Survive and Stranger Things, this EP fits right in the pocket and is slated for a Halloween 2016 release.
TX Connect – Farewell To Arps EP [JACKDEPT001]

Dallas-based Gavin Guthrie, better known as TX Connect, is a DJ and Producer that is one of the finest the North American underground has to offer. He features on Jack Dept’s first release. The “Farewell To Arps” EP contains absolutely smoldering, jacking, acid-tinged rippers. This is dance floor material through and through, burning stuff. The Jack Dept label is born from the monthly party run out of Brooklyn by Volvox and John Barera.
VA – Tusk Wax 20 [TW020]

Tusk says “I wanted to go back to the way the label started for the 20th release, so I’ve put together a VA which captures the way the label has moved in the past couple of years and will continue to shift”.

TX Connect – Replacing Memories [LP009]

TX Connect steps up for Lower Parts 09. Replacing Memories is a pounding voyage into the unknown. Pulsing acid and urgent FX ring out over banging drums.
TX Connect – Trixxter EP [DABJ1213]

Gavin Guthrie returns on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams with a full record as TX Connect. There’s a strobe-friendly feel throughout this final DABJammer of 2014, as the producer joins the dots between acid house and fluorescent techno, with a few hints of early ’90s rave thrown in. This is most obvious on the title track, which expertly fuses a wobbly acid line, ricocheting drum machine hits and a nagging, early ’90s riff. “Intramountains” comes swaddled in stormy sound effects, cloaking its hissing rhythms with foreboding techno stabs and backwards samples. As for “Xanadu”, it’s a deliciously rough-and-ready chunk of late night acid jack.
Gavin Guthrie aka TX Connect – Gavin Guthrie aka TX Connect [CREME68-69]

Next up on Creme Organization is Gavin Guthrie Aka TX Connect with a searing double album of analogue tracks aimed at the dancefloor. Up first is ‘Soundtrack 909’, a deep and melodically rich house affair that sooths your soul before ‘00707’ gets rough, jagged and angst with its off time cowbells, brooding hi hats and ever more frantic acid. ‘Palm Sunday’ then explores more cosmic beat territory in playful, colourful style and ‘Metroplex Jaxx’ is a rugged, dystopian and foreboding acid jam with plenty of occult melody work buried deep within. ‘Aqua Finess’ is a wholly malfunctioning acid machine very much doing its own weird thing and on the last side of this double vinyl pack, ‘Desmond’s Obsession’ plays with whacked out electro aesthetics and ‘Haddonfield, IL’ leaves you on a dour and downbeat note thanks to its crawling synths and lumpy hooks. Overall, this is an expansive and expressive double pack from TX Connect that has more than been the wait.
TX Connect – Real TX Jaxx EP [MUMS002]
TX Connect – You Too [ASW001]

The first release on the Adelaide Soundworks label comes from producer TX Connect. He delivers 3 diverse lo-fi techno jams; lovely oldschool vive on the A side while the tracks on the flip are a bit more fierce
TX Connect / CT Trax – DABJ Allstars Vol.1 [DABJ1207]

Dixon Avenue Basement Jams present their first various artists release, the self-explanatory DABJ Allstars Vol 1. Two unheralded names share the billing for this one, TX Connect and CT Trax; the former delivers “TX Acid”, a tuff 303 jam for sweaty basements, and “Ghetto 972”, a slamming piece of house with its eye on the more raucous end of the 90s, while CT Trax presents “Redline”, a driving techno belter filled with phased synths, and the standout “Jack Attack”, which distils classic Dance Mania down to its most primal rhythmic elements.
