Kriss Kortez aka Life Recorder hits up on snapshot digital with three fine techno tracks, packed with soul featuring a remix of Late Night by label head Elliott Dodge.
The Psychic Stewardess – Spiritual Foundation CD [SLR037]

Strange Life has just announced the release of Spiritual Foundation, a collection of “woolly and smudgey Detroit electronics”, credited to The Psychic Stewardess. Though we’re told that it’s the work of a “part-time stewardess and psychic from the Californian desert town of Palm Springs”, it’s got Danny Wolfers’ (aka Legowelt) fingerprints all over it, and features his previously available re-rub of the Shinobi video game theme.
Rokolectiv Festival 2010 @ Bucharest, April 22-25
Joel Alter – Soul Clap [SWSH0036]

Sweatshops third release rolls on in with two hot, old-school-vibed productions from Joel Alter! Swedish-Berliner Alter turns in two fresh, yet raw, cuts that are perfect for the winter club season, and a special edit from label boss Savas Pascalidis also features
Norm Talley – Cosmic Waves [PRTR009]

Old classic from Talley gets re-released with two solid remixes from Delano Smith & XDB. For house music lovers, Sushitech & its sister label Pariter are on it with timely re-issues and new remixes!
6th Borough Project – Blend II (Full Mix)
The Hacker – Haunted [MRX017]

Haunted is a Kraftwerk-style electro track, with an 808 punching pattern counterpointing a deep analogue bassline enveloped in rich, harmonic pads. Bringing cold atmospheres, in the mood of Dopplereffekt. On the B side, the Feedback remix is an acid techno razorblade, coming straight from the Sound of Rome traditional path. Also the Banda Banetti remix (a new MinimalRome open project) gyrates in the techno domain, with a deeply revised version of the original.
J.T.C. – Basturma Highway [MRX016]

J.T.C. is the techno alter ego of Tadd Mullinix/Dabrye. His style ranges from caffeine techno to dark ebm tunes to sick house. This time Tadd brings two jacking 4/4 Chicago house monsters, embroidered here and there by dirty 303 loops, whistles, eerie vocal samples and crispy pads. Both amazingly packaged in a loud analogue production.
Manuel Tur – Beasts And The Birds EP [DOG08]

Fianchetto opts for a dark, spaced-out and deeply hypnotic vibe full of warm, subby disco beats, shimmering Rhodes and echoing horns.. Next up we have Beasts And The Birds which goes for a heavy looped up disco approach full of raw Detroit sensibilities and attitude. Finally, Tim Toh stretches out Beasts And The Birds into a 9 minute journey into abstract dance.
I.F.M. – Yes We Are EP [DPC028-1]
I.F.M are from Salento, Italy and this project is dedicated to Ilario Corsano. He was an influential DJ and a closed friend of Marcello Napoletano and Francisco Schito who passed away. The rhythms of I.F.M are challenging and forward-thinking. Grooves with a personal attitude and a trademark sound make this project so essential to us. Dan Mela who is known for his releases on Black Label and is also Francisco’s brother has contributed 2 awesome mixes.
Kyle Hall – Kaychunk/You Know What I Feel [HDB032]

Just 18 years old and hailing from Detroit, Kyle Hall has been getting a lot of attention after releasing several EPs on his own Wild Oats label, plus a one-sided single for Omar S’ FHXE imprint. However, this is his first full release for another label. Both tracks inhabit an interzone between live and mechanical music, full of details and fills that lend a playful, hands-on feel.
Joy Orbison – The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow [AUS1026]

Devilishly catchy melodies and basslines, full of feeling and soul, evolve and grow as the arrangement develops to leave you on an almighty high. Big drops, super heavy drum programming and grooves that sound like only Joy Orbison right now. There’s shades of garage, shades of funky, shades of old school R&B.
Marcello Napoletano – From The Depths Of My Mind [YORE023]

Yore proudly presents Marcello Napoletano, who is more than just the man of the hour, with his extraordinary releases presented on Mathematics, Uzuri and Quintessentials. This Ep follows the roots of classic raw House musics in its purest most authentic form.
Legowelt – Bayville Cove / Ocean Arrow [CWCS05]

Fierce jacking Chicago influenced tracks as only Legowelt can do it! Very much in the vein of his DX Days release with straight forward jacking analogue drum machines, trademark Legowelt string sounds and wobbly bass lines.
Space Dimension Controller – Journey To The Core Of The Unknown Sphere [ROYAL004]

Great release from upcoming 19 yr old Space Dimension Controller, young producer from the UK. Three dope tracks, along the lines Of The other Peoples Place, but with a personal signature. Kyle Hall, another young talent from Detroit is on remix duties here.
Gerd – Friendly Fire [ROYAL003]

Royal Oak with futuristic house sounds from one of Hollands longest running house producers Gerd!! Some gorgeous warm Rhodes driven tracks with interstellar melodies. The tracks really take off once the deep sub bass kicks in! Two tracks that sound like a warm stream of fresh air.
