Area Forty_One – Discharging Clouds [ANN014]
Ann Aimee goes darker and more minimalistic than before with this debut release by Area Forty_One. This unknown producer gives us his personal interpretation of modern techno. This double pack contains five solid techno cuts, filled with spacy and robotic sounds, together with one imminent ambient track.
Kassem Mosse – Musical Generics [M007]
The 7th release on Mikrodisko delivers the perfect concept for the dissolution of the antagonism between original and replica with Kassem Mosse’s “Musical Generics”. The two tracks on offer, namely “7pm” and “7am”, showcase two very different aspects to the German producer’s aresnal, with the former touching on the deeply melodic end of techno, while the latter offers a tense.

Robert Hood – Omega: Alive [MPM012]
Robert Hood, the Detroit legend and true originator of minimal techno returns to revisit the Omega project he first began last year. It was inspired by the 1971 sci-fi thriller “The Omega Man”, which may be unfamiliar, but is based on the 1954 novel “I Am Legend.” The original album was released last year, however, this time around, he has given it a makeover in order to suit a live show he will be touring around this upcoming summer. On ‘Omega: Alive’ Hood takes the raw elements of the originals and builds them into a tense and pulsating live show that propels ‘Omega’ into a new light. Opening with new track ‘Bells At Dusk’ Hood builds over a sparse drum pattern before a scatter shot piano riff announces the unmistakable kick sound of the minimal master. ‘Run’ keeps up with soft pads and then Hood drops one of the albums key tracks with the staccato-strobe flash of ‘Alpha: Alive’ as he works the original into a mesmerizing and melodic, string inflected monster. Then we have new track ‘Minimal, Minimal’ whose hypnotic refrain could well be a call to arms across the world’s dancefloors this summer whilst Hood also re-works classics like ‘Who Taught You Math?’, ‘Unix’, ‘Minus’ and ‘Side Effect’ into his unique rhythm of vision. Finally Hood wraps the Omega story up with three bonus tracks including brand new track ‘Atomic’.
Sigha – Sigha EP [HF029]
Hotflush presents its fifth release from Sigha. This EP continues his progression into subterranean techno hauntings. With this release he takes a more direct approach that maintains the cavernous atmosphere and spatial tension of his previous work on Hotflush and his own label Our Circula Sound, resulting in a collection of club tracks that evolve and sizzle with burning tenacity, ultimately bursting into the beatless closer that echoes about in an otherworldly space.

Giorgio Gigli – The Imperceptible Shade Of Illusion [M_RECLTD008]
M_Rec Ltd presents two original tracks by Giorgio Gigli and a remix from Terence Fixmer. Together, their approach creates something special and unique. In its original track Giorgio Gigli delivers the best of its hypnotic and psychedelic techno. A great atmosphere, where the ambient pads meet the dark bass sound. The side closes with an ambient session; a drone of pure electronic,dark synth, making the idea of the state of mind of his own individual unconscious. Terence Fixmer’s version is decidedly more rough, stripped of certain atmospheres, highlighting a more hypnotic and repetitive attitude.
