Precurseur Grand Bois – Round 1 [ZN006]

After closing their first series (Zusammen 1-5 was a more electro(nix) based series), a new project emerges. Precurseur Grand Bois is a concept of total art, a great project where the ”60’s meets the 80’s into the Zero Age”. A mixture of elements made of analog electronics, acoustic percussion and spoken word.
Federsen – Echo Relics [SSD04]

Very deep (which absolutely is a Silent Season trademark) yet very danceable album by Federsen, who shows us he is very capable of delivering high-quality, varied tracks that never lose the specific trademark we mentioned earlier.
Mike Dehnert – Breso EP [ECHOCORDCOLOUR017]

The second EP by Mike Dehnert on Echocord Colour, with 2 striped killer Berlin flavoured techno-dub tracks. The EP includes also a remix by Roman Lindau.
Northern Structures – Service & Devotion [SG1149]

Copenhagen’s Northern Structures duo return on Sonic Groove with their second release entitled “Service & Devotion”, following up perfectly with three more songs of well crafted industrialized dark pumping techno.
Mikkel Metal – Mazurski / Cassini EP [TARTELET019]

Mikkel Metal’s new Tartelet EP travels deep into the spectral voids of space. Empyrean pads and raw drums reverberate in our ear meatus on Cassini -soft kicks with shrill claps and a prodding bassline bringing back memories of Mikkel Metal’s earlier dubby excursions.
Unbalance – Deformed Reality EP [SMR009]

Sonntag Morgen presents the new release by The Russian Unbalance featuring four tracks of pure dub techno. Sounds that can remember the cold winters, the industrial cities in the early hours of the morning. The rhythms are techno, softened by the atmosphere of classic dub techno.
Marcel Dettmann – Translation EP [OSTGUTTON052]

Dettmann’s unique textured sound design sets the scene for new moments of discovery. Launching us into the space-race, “Barrier“ documents those tense moments of discovery as we reach into new territories. “Translation One” is a frantic, quivering and snaking snapshot into the kind of techno the producer stands for these days. Metallic bass spins sideways, while evermodulating percussion drives forward. The sinister sci-fi tones of “Translation Two“ warble and jive in glorious syncopation as a systematic heavy kick and hat program works the bass frequencies and rhythmic zones. Open and spacious, its meandering theme hangs deliciously between paranoia and positivity. In “Planning“ Dettmann further explores his inclination for intricate, tripping synth patterns. A staggered, wonderfully immersive theme builds from delayed staccato notes in a classic analog sequence, underpinned by rumbling dub bass pressure.
Phil Kieran / Jochem Paap – Workshops Vol. 01 [DLX018]

„Workshops“ is a new experimental series of releases by Phil Kieran and Jochem Paap (aka Speedy J), to explore the recording techniques dating right back to the mid 1950‘s. Famous inspirational places like ‘BBCRadiophonic Workshops’ in England and ‘Philips Lab’ in Holland have seen some of the most innovative production techniques, experimenting with the first use of stereo, modular synths, found sounds and reel to reel tapes. The end result was always something space age and promisingly futuristic and still to this day fresh sounding, crisp and exciting. The first Issue of ‘Workshops Vol.1 EP’ consist of three flowing tracks with an inimitable organic and atmospheric appeal.
Lucy – Monad X [SAM010]

Lucy’s Monad X plays with Pythagoras’ vision of ‘X’ as the numeral that perfectly envelops the entire nature of numbers. But Monad X is anything but a benign portrait of creation. On ‘Triad’ primal dub erupts into gnarled noise, the undercarriage of ‘Tetrad’ writhes unset – tlingly against the strictures of 4/4 and ‘Pentad’ is underpinned by a decidedly ghostly aesthetic. To close, ‘Decad’ hovers over a vortex and it’s here that from the Monad the Dyad starts to emerge.
Advanced Human – Air EP [GYNOID005]

The Advanced Human – ‘Air’ EP is the latest deep offering from Gynoid Audio. “Air”offers up rolling Dub keys surrounded by intricate percussion and a drive aimed at the dance floor, rich with dub chords, atmosphere and reflection. The EP comes with remixes from Markus Suckut, Raiz and Ground Loop.
2562 – Fever Addendum [DOUBT001R]

New release coming from When In Doubt by 2562, as a one-off addition to the Fever LP from earlier this year. Arguably the most popular track on 2562’s recent ‘Fever’ album, ‘Aquatic Family Affair’ is here on wax again in full glory, extended and re-cut. Half reissue, half remix 12”, the flip has Head High aka Shed giving his favourite albumtrack ‘Wasteland’ the Powerhouse remix treatment, slow-building and boombastic as only he can.
Lando Kal – Maneuver [RH-DC011]

Rush Hour Direct Current series continue with Lando Kal. Freaked out juggernauts of electronic music, primarily experimenting with various mutations of house. Dense instrumentation, analog synth and drum machine work, complex melodies, and creeping basslines are pooled from his musical obsessions with 90’s RnB, classic house, freestyle, garage, Detroit Techno, early synthesizer music.
The Organ Grinder – New Age People / Obsession [CATAPULT002]

Catapult Records presents the debut solo release from the Organ Grinder, with two classy modern garage hits that have a back in the day vintage feel. Both tracks are swingers aimed directly at the dance floor full of soulful vocal snippets, catchy melodies, shuffling rhythm patterns, warm vintage keys and plenty of deep bass.

Axel Boman is making a strong run with new releases this year! Together with his own Studio Barnhus release this is the second summer 2011 release. Fresh house music from Sweden, comes with remixes by Applebim and Al Tourettes.

VA – The Early Sound Collective [ES001]

Debut release of these talented guys from Napels, Italy. They deliver three classic yet fresh deep house tracks, with warm & lush chords & basslines and superb analog drum programming, very deep, warm, funky.
Marcos Cabral – 24 Hour Flight [LIES006.5]

Marcos Cabral, half of Runaway, takes an unexpectedly nice departure from his previous works with three refreshingly varied original tracks. The A-side title track 24 Hour Flight develops as a late night, muted chord-driven filtered techno mixer which nicely compliments the A.2 track Cassandra with swelling bass and mellow dub-techno influences . Filling the entire b-side at almost 13 minutes is the analog house jam Freckles, complete with bright synth washes, 707 drums, and maybe even a breathing vocal buried in there somewhere as the jam goes on and on.
