Lerosa – Theme Of Perception [EUDEMONIA002]
Lerosa’s 25th solo EP will be released on German label Eudemonia. Known for his deep-house sound, the Dublin based Italian producer showcases a different palette for this release. The four tracks gravitate somewhere between Electro, Italo, Synthwave and imaginary film themes. “Glider”, a fast electro track, opens the EP combining acid drops and dystopian sci-fi elements. “The Minister’ is much slower and serves as an emotional homage to those gone too soon. “Plateau Rosa” connects Italo and Detroit delivering a rolling bassline and glassy synth clouds for the delight of the afterhour-dancefloor. And if Lerosa had scored the soundtrack of a Michael Mann film in the 80’s, “Theme of Perception” would have been right at home, a fitting end for this EP.
VA – Beyond The Pub Vol. 1 EP [CPG008-1]
Beyond the Pub is a collection of tracks for the after hours. From drunken treks to the filthy kebab shop to outer body experiences in the icy wonderlands, Cosmic Pint Glass tells the stories that happened after leaving the Social House. In Vol 1. Mark du Mosch adds tension, FRAK takes you on that boozy journey to the Kebab Shop, Julian G reflects on the beauty of a frozen wonderland and Lie of the Land takes you on a introspective acid journey.
Jordan GCZ – Pinball Lizard EP [RHM029]
High Scoring EP from one of the hardest working producers we know. The A side is a pacey affair – a multi-ball dancefloor battle against the Grand Lizard. The two equally neon treasures on the B side were recorded at the gear laden Worm studio, Rotterdam in 2017. This is another cracking solo outing from the Ju Ju & Jordash / Magic Mountain High linchpin.
Myriadd – Oceans EP [PT012]
This EP showcases a wider style than previous Myriadd EPs, and the tracks here are a mixture of dancefloor focused tracks and the more etherial, emotive style that listeners associate with this artist.
Mantra – Exhale [PT011]
A selection of three acid-tinged cuts here, from Mantra, who has previously released on labels such as Bunker, Abstract Acid and Solar One Music. The EP’s title track, Exhale, is a flowing, hypnotic number with tripped out reverb washes and a mesmerising lead line that rises and falls for the duration of the track, putting the listener in a meditative state. Transmutation is more focused on the dancefloor, although at the same time more off-kilter, with shamanistic percussive rattles and and uneasy 303 line sitting over a pulsing bassline. Black Light is the toughest of these three cuts, with a creaking acid line combined with heavier percussion that gives a nod to the city that spawned the genre, and the originators of the sound.
Fringe Society – Youngblood [WE007]
Channeling the same slick electronic-funkiness of his DJ sets into four tracks of wildly different music for Wrong Era’s vinyl imprint, this is a record for all occasions that takes in dreamy cosmic-psychedelia, chugging dance-workouts and explosive peak-time bangers.
Nixxon / Franz Scala – Mechatronica White 2 [MTRONW002]
Berlin collective Mechatronica continues their limited, vinyl-only White series dedicated to sounds across synth, new wave, EBM, italo and electro, with a split EP by Danish producer Nixxon and Italian dance wave wizard Franz Scala. Nixxon’s gloomy, cosmic electro slow-roller opens Mechatronica White 2, followed by the heavier sounds of West, driven by razor-sharp synth stabs, voodoo percussion and a colossal bassline to boot. On the flip, Franz Scala meshes italo, acid and spacey synth grooves into two effective anthems for the floor, destined to move bodies and transport minds.

VA – The Library Music Film: Music From & Inspired By The Film [LEGO148]
The Library Music Film follows record producer, composer and library music enthusiast Shawn Lee as he travels from his recording studio in London, through Europe, and California, USA to search out and interview the great pioneers of library music. Collecting rare, unreleased vinyl is big business. Library music was only available on vinyl and only given to industry professionals. There were very small production runs; sometimes only 200 copies of each album were pressed. Most of those were destroyed through the Nineties with the advent of CDs. Finding these records is extremely rare and therefore some of these records go for well over a thousand pounds. Shawn Lee opens the record boxes of some of the most notorious collectors, getting a glimpse and having a listen to their favourite wax. Delving into the vaults of the classic library music houses, meeting the people behind these incredible themes at Music De Wolfe, Warner-Chappell, Bruton Music, Bosworth, Flipper Music, KPM, Tele Music and Capitol Media Music as well as talking to some of the modern record labels that are compiling and re-issuing these quintessential pieces.

‘In The Senses’ is a soundtrack concept album from Fernando Pulichino based around the premise of music for film. Melody, ambience and mood are central to these pieces influenced by the likes of Angelo Badalamenti, John Carpenter and Johnny Jewel. The result is timeless electronic music infused with bittersweet synth chords & melodies, beat less atmospherics, bubbling electronics and synthesizer minimalism.
Abstract Orchestra – Madvillain, Vol. 1 [ATALP012]
Abstract Orchestra’s Madvillain Vol 1. explores the jazz, TV soundtrack and film score aspect of the original work, combining it with classic big band writing and a focus on improvisation. Bandleader and arranger Rob Mitchell says of the record: ‘”Madvillain’ is a jazz album as much as it is a hip-hop album and I wanted to explore this reciprocal territory there has always been between jazz and hip-hop. 70’s cop show soundtracks have always captured my interest and imagination, and I discovered so much amazing music through TV themes, Quincy Jones and Lalo Schifrin in particular. They explored sounds that were menacing, angular, dissonant, frantic and yet captivating. They were also able to write music that was the flip side of all that dark chaos, and write lush and beautiful music. Arranging and scoring up Madvillain Vol 1. Has allowed me to explore these sounds that I’ve always loved, yet keeping a strong hip-hop identity as the core of its sound.”
Mike Parker / Cirkle – Metamora [FLOAT032]
Mike Parker on Float Records with two originals he steals the show. Known for his iconic sound which is much imitated, never bettered. Just listen and enjoy both pieces of craftsmanship. On the flip side is Cirkle. With two successful releases on Float so far he now gets the chance to present himself on the magic black wax next to his personal hero Mike Parker.
Repeater – Repetitions 1-4 [REPEAT001]
To ‘repeat’ is to do something again. That’s exactly what happened on this record. A well known, yet anonymous artist from Rotterdam delivers yet again four raw and repetitive techno cuts.
Yan Cook – Dead Satellite [INERTIA08]
Ukrainian producer Yan Cook steps up for his second EP in a row on Delsin Records’ Inertia series, the dancefloor focussed offshoot that is running since 2011. He now brings his trademark spangled techno back to the label where he appeared for the first time in 2012. Once again it’s sub shaking and room filling techno madness, shuffling percussion and rippling grooves made for the big floors and smokey warehouses.
Modus – Triple M EP [OUZ02]
Outer Zone is the label from Glasgow’s La Cheetah Club and this is their second release, coming from Glasgow’s very own Modus, who himself is a resident at Edinburgh’s legendary techno night Substance. Refracted through the sound of Detroit’s second wave, Modus, steers ‘Triple M’ across a spectrum of discordant pulsations and contorting energies towards enthralment.
Shao – Doppler Shift [TRESOR306]

The 15 Dead Minutes – Bio-Evolved [SUBAPICAL03]
For Subapical03 we present you the label debut of The 15 Dead Minutes. The 15 Dead Minutes is a collaboration between David Froud (Heuristic Audio) and David Campbell (Delinquent Dialect). Here they blur the lines between electro, techno and industrial with 4 screaming cuts, cutting between hostility, brutalism and mournfulness.
Djedjotronic – R.U.R. [BNR174]
On his new album “R.U.R.” the Berlin producer Djedjotronic lets the cold machines have warm heartbeats, and vice versa. Recorded in a basement in southern France Owns “r.u.r.” A collection of techno-futuristic themes on modern isolation, robotics, simulation and cyborgs. The most aggressive dancefloor moment is undoubtedly “Take Me Down” featuring Douglas Mccarthy (Nitzer Ebb) on vocals, an industrial arpeggio monster track.
