For it’s 15th release, Bokhari introduce 3 timeless classics from the analogue jam master Sweely. Spanning raw warehouse grooves on ‘The time has come’, smooth heavy rolling bass and melodic keys on ‘Hangover Day’ and shuffling US garage beats and choppy vocals on ‘Wopp’, this release has something for everybody. Paterson steps in for Bokhari remix duties darkening up ‘The time has come’ with a driving bassline, off-worldly atmospheres and dusty keys.

Medical Records in collaboration with our friends at Crispy Nuggets blog are happy to reissue a very obscure Australian gem from the 1980s. Ironing Music were a three piece band from Brisbane. They originally formed in 1984 as a result of their collective love for New Order, Human League and eventually Jean Michel Jarre and Cabaret Voltaire. Comprised of bass and electic guitar, Yamaha DX-7, melodica and an 808, they recorded a 12″ single as their sole outpt in 1985 in a limited run of 250 copies (obviously excruciatingly rare now!). It was recorded in their bedroom studio with at Teac 4 track. The video clip for the “hit” Shopping Bag Women was played on several national and local television music shows. They also recorded demos in hopes of landing a LP deal which unfortunately didn’t attract any takers at the time. They actually only played 3 gigs and were forced to disband after one of their members fell ill in 1986. The LP presented here included the original 4 track single as well as hand picked demos which nicely congeal to form a well rounded LP documenting the band’s brief existence. They can best be described as lo-fi synth pop with an emphasis on excellent pop songs and interesting synth/instrument arrangements.

A split release by two Rotterdam artists from the same part of town, Das Ding and Ian Martin.

The thrid an final installment of archive material. Tolouse Low Trax just needs an MPC, a small Synthesizer set up and some effects to create subliminal hypnotic music trips, driven by dark synthlines and drunken shuffled patterns. ”The primitiveness in my music is linked to something simple, and that don’t have to be obligatory minimal. For me it is enough to dance rough around the core. Music you don’t shape till the end contains of a moment of beauty. A veil of secrecy. I work very simply. I rather reduce my possibilities in ompass. Limitations offer lots of liberties.”

Dark Entries releases ‘Dualism’, the sophomore E.P. from contemporary Montreal-based duo, Solitary Dancer. They are known for their elegant, richly-sculpted sound design and knack for propulsive club rhythms that eschew rigid 4/4 drum patterns. ‘Dualism’ opens with “Anything”, equal parts Drexciya and Dopplereffekt — full of low-end bass stabs, blipping synths; swelling and washing to a cinematic close. For the first time on a Solitary Dancer record, vocals make an appearance in the guise of a male companion who’s lamenting a lost lover. “Losing Touch” takes a classic electro beat, and through the use of elegiac pad washes, distorted bass and menacing vocals, morphs into persistently engaging shapes. The B-side’s ”Emails 2 Myself” is a suspenseful corralling of intriguing sonic elements. Its fractured 707 beats combine with melancholic strings and features vocals by Marie Davidson. Also included is the instrumental version of “Emails”, accentuating the bass drum, snare, hi-hat and melodic synth tones, sailing into the subdued evening sun of the future.

The year is 2051. The human race has split into two groups. One maintained their basic human state, while the other transformed by tapping into their psychospiritual lifeforce potential. The second group created a higher dimensional civilization. They called it Xymeria.

Spacious and elastic grooves aimed at the body and the floor. Once again, this versatile and robust offering from JP Enfant is another standout release on the young label.

The North East of England is known for its role in helping to shape the UK House and Techno club landscape during the late 80’s and throughout 90’s. It’s infectious and raw energy engaged Slip-D from a young age exposing him to a number of venues including The Riverside, Empire, Pleasure Rooms and the hedonistic Rockshots. Drawing inspiration from the scene along with potent labels like Svek, Guidance and Shaboom that came in to prominence in the late 90’s, a bedroom studio set up of amassed hardware funded on a basic income was then formed over time. Residence in Teesdale Avenue, regular local Car Thefts and the wail of the Rag and Bone man all assembled themselves as a formula of what was happening outside the 4 walls of the studio. The vaulted Hypnoelectronix No.1 finally got pressed after some years, and transports us to the true crux of that era.

The history of Planets … It has been 100 years since the British composer Gustav Holst introduced his most famous score «The Planets». An elegant musical tour to each one of our Planets in the Solar System, Holst brought forth imaginary visions of space that would survive many generations and decades after. As an important piece to the classical universe, ‘The Planets’ is regularly played throughout the World every year as it had been the most vivid translation of our cosmic neighborhood until now. The Electronic Music artist and producer Jeff Mills, pays tribute to this century of incredible musical production. “Cellular Automata” is the new album from Dopplereffekt (Gerald Donald and Michaela To-Nhan Bertel), their first in ten years since 2007. Cellular Automata approaches mathematical growth and decay as an iterative process, with each data input considered individually relative to the overall model. The result represents one of the group’s boldest creative endeavors, defying expectations while remaining unmistakably Dopplereffekt. Cellular Automata is the third Dopplereffekt release to come via Berlin’s Leisure System label, following 2013’s “Tetrahymena” and 2014’s “Hypnagogia”.
