The IMF label serves up its first release of 2015 and introduces a rising Berlin talent Somewhen. Lead track “Dain” is a stripped back thing of wonder, approaching levels of trippiness that put it somewhere between Dozzy and Acido, whilst “Aula” offers a rougher, more unpredictable side to Somewhen’s production palette. To end matters, Somewhen lays down a gnarled slab of acid perfect for deep in the night in the shape of “XJ”.

Hailing from Spain, Eduardo De La Calle has been a prolific DJ and house and techno producer since the early nineties. Eduardo is an underground legend staying true to his analogue production techniques and never following the pack.
The first “episode” of Zadig’s Kern Space Adventures series, released last year, offered a particularly intergalactic take on deep house, and sat somewhere between Alien-era Larry Heard, the inherent far-sightedness of Detroit techno, and the head-in-the-clouds electronics of Space Dimension Controller’s more ambient moments. There’s a similarly weightless, drifting-through-space feel about this follow up. It’s particularly noticeable on “Quiet Orbit Around Gladia 2”, a heady fusion of deep space rhythms, loopy, acid-influenced electronics and tactile chords that seem to stretch out beyond the horizon. There’s a little more bump and swing to the slightly darker “Hunted By The Cosmic Assassin”, but it still comes smothered in glassy-eyed pads and immersive electronics.
Philly’s Metasplice are back with another double LP’s worth of unique soundscapes. To be sure, they’re previous sides for Morphosis’s Morphine label and they’re own imprint _bruxist have been some of the most engaging works of electronic music in recent memory. This collection of new works is even more arresting and vital.

Finale Sessions bring new music from some of the new generation Parisians Ka One & St.Sene.”Temporary Expression” with it’s solid drum work and wicked keys and soft pads which makes this track a latenight beater. ” Smokin’ Joint ” has classic Detroit feel to it with its bangin breaks and its acid synths and simple pads brings this track to whole other dancefloor. “Control 33” this a true techno deep peek time track with its efx and perfecto drums and synth laden sounds gives it that dance floor package needed to complete this perfect package. “G.U.R.U” this another Techno deep late night hitter with its pounding kick and its voice modulated efx with its melodic pads and strings.

Part 2 of the Laffer EP Marco Bernardi on Barba is going head down, straight ahead and striving for energy. Attack of the Dessert Stormers is an overload of dark electro power, six minutes of squirming bassline-driven movement with surges of intensity from analogue bleeps and subtle drum pattern shifts. There’s no let up on the flip side where Two Sliders brings equal force but in a more techno style. Right from the start you’ll be grabbed by the bassline, but this one rewards extended listening as the track develops progressively with new melodies and metallic touches taking you deeper and deeper. There’s a moment of sweetness to end our journey with “There’s always tomorrow”, a chiming melodic ramble through tinfoil meadows that will fit beautifully into a warmup set.
