Hipodrome Podcast 007 – Transilmania

Marcello Napoletano – Everyday Madness [HHYR011]

Three tracks that show the original spirit of raw, emotive, jacking music. The A-side, “Everyday Madness” is simply a side long drum machine workout with some added vocal effects, perfect for a DJ tool or just for some late night dancefloor mayhem. The B-side contains two slightly more musical jaunts. “Raw As Fuck” is simply pure urgent party music for dark discoteques, with a perfectly mixed low end bass drum and a glistening sheen. “Soul Train” has a groove and a jack to it, and has a similiar sound to some of the Underground Quality records being released at present. With its farting subs and off-kilter breaks, it’ll be sure to rock your crowd late into set.

Traxx – Lifeless Future

Nation

For the first smaller jubilee of the Nation Podcast we were not sure what we should do to quench the thirst of those who are in constant need of Jakbeat.
But then Traxx was getting booked to play alongside Gene Hunt and Sadar Bahar in Amsterdam for a celebration of the early blueprints of Chicago House, and to take the people attending the show on a journey through time and space, deep into the vaults of what is considered to be the greatest musical revolution of all time.
Our own excitement for this historical event, made us go down into the basement-archives to unearth a session that was thought to be forgotten. Ripped directly straight from tape, with all artefacts and soundlevel-changes intact… Lifeless Future will draw a disturbing image of the future, when Mankind is not anymore, and all there is left in the world is sound.
We hope you will enjoy this session, and give it a repeated listen…

D’Marc Cantu – Black Tears [CRJAK012]

D'Marc Cantu - Black Tears

When it hits there is no escaping this deeeeeep creepy crawly Mind Meld. It engulfs you, then sucks you into a womblike state, only to spit you back out onto the dancefloor where you’ll be JAKKING your ass off!

listen

D’Marc Cantu – Black Tears [CRJAK012]

Jackmaster Hater – Warehouse Box Tracks [WHBTR04]

JACKMASTER HATER - Tracky 1 / Tracky 2 / Drum Track image

Unleashed from the basement of some lucky Chicago fiend, these are four ruff-as-fuck jack tracks from back in’t day. All four tracks have previously appeared on mixes and tapes but never pressed onto wax before so if you crave some old skool jack vibes, look no further.

VA – City 2 City / Wonder Sometimes [STX002]

The second release on Snuff Trax. KiNK and Neville Watson delivers the fantastic “City 2 City” for the A-Side of Snuff Trax 002. On B-Side we find “Wonder Sometimes”, a new tracks from Snuff Crew a bit deeper than you maybe expect… The second track on the B-Side is a Neville Watson remix of our “Are You House?” cut.

2AM/FM – Desolate Cities [MOSDEEP004]

2 AM/FM - Desolate Cities

After their collaboration with Traxx on a previous MOS-release, James T. Cotton and D’Marc Cantu team up as 2AM/FM for more serious Chicago House roughness. ‘Desolate Cities’ has all ingredients we love to hear in proper dark house track, this very reminds us to the best works by Phuture. ‘Give This World’ goes more on the melodic tip, and reminds to classic tracks by Virgo, Ron Trent and G-Strings.

Disco Nihilist – From One Place To Another [CP02]

Disco Nihilist’s music production rejects PCs decked with sleek software and infinite options. Instead he chooses to operate within the parameters of dated, hands-on music technology. This is not art made for the sake of process or equipment fetishism, but rather a real human interaction with the instruments at hand.

Disco Nihilist – From One Place To Another [CP02]

Legowelt – Bayville Cove / Ocean Arrow [CWCS05]

Fierce jacking Chicago influenced tracks as only Legowelt can do it! Very much in the vein of his DX Days release with straight forward jacking analogue drum machines, trademark Legowelt string sounds and wobbly bass lines.

listen

Legowelt – Bayville Cove / Ocean Arrow [CWCS05]

D’Marc Cantu & The Maniacs – Future Elektronix EP [NAT008]

Nation is On The Move! The tracks for this release are unique and striking that their specialness is undeniable. D’Marc Cantu and The Maniacs are particularly compelling.

D’Marc Cantu & The Maniacs – Future Elektronix EP [NAT008]

Chicago Skyway – Wolfgang Hair Ep [Uzuri010]

His new EP for Uzuri will only enhance his reputation even further – four tracks for brains in basements that thump and glide and scream of a man with a big future ahead of him. Crisp drums and synths dissolve into super strong acid on A1 cut “CP1”. On A2 Confusion comes over like something Morgan Geist didn’t make in 1995 but should have done. B1 track “Acid” is the heaviest cut of the four. A massive twenty-first century Armando monument that will ruin any discerning dance floor it encounters. B2 track Glasswerks sounds as clear and clean as its name suggests, with chimes and a thoroughbred old school Chicago beat and bass.

Chicago Skyway – Wolfgang Hair Ep [Uzuri010]

Legowelt – Gardens Of The Ghetto [CR1246]

The official follow up to Legowelt’s ”Vatos Locos” LP, last years magnum opus/tour de force/piece de resistance etc (did we loose your attention yet?). Ever since the inclusion of these tracks on the extremely limited (and partially withdrawn) Vatos Locos CD – we’ve had many requests to put them on vinyl. Who are we to fly in the face of popular demand? So here it is, on glorious virgin black vinyl in a gorgeous sweet ‘n’ sober sleeve. Inside you find four tracks of patented deep(house) jakking Wolfers madness .. Two bangers and two intropersective low-ridin’ rolers. Not only great for ghetto gardening and home improvement, but also for workin’ up a sweat on the dancefloor.
