VA – Irrational Flashbacks [GRTW010]
Mysterious project recorded in Berlin in 2018, a shadowy collective brings a collection of cold synths, ominous tones and analog drum machines. Various Positions exist as the collective vision by five anonymous artists. On ‘Irrational Flashbacks’, Various Positions have created a unique atmosphere likened to the the reverberation of a gunshot ricocheting through city streets though while still maintaining the impact of a hollow point bullet absorbed into the chest; a resounding testament to the artists’ ethos towards the obliteration of identity and their self imposed state of obscurity.”

The Exaltics – The Seventh Planet LP [CWCS022LP]
Clone Records releases the new sci-fi electro-techno album by The Exaltics. Its the 3rd album project for Clone Records after the 2014 ”Some Other Place” and critically acclaimed 2019 album ”2 Worlds”. The Exaltics deliver an album full of futuristic modern techno tracks with beautiful distant atmospheres, alienating techno tracks and energetic robotic electro beats. Joined by Paris the Black Fu & Mr. Remy for a critical view on the current state of affairs on our home planet.
VA – NOAR001 [NOAR001]
NOAR Records is a young collective of enthusiasts in electronic music from Dresden. The aim is to bring locals from Dresden and eastern Germany on the screen of like minded people. The scene is bursting with talents and audiophiles of several generations and therefore we want to give these talents a platform and make their output accessible to like-minded people. The kick off is a compilation with 6 different producers with their take on electro.
VA – Exit Planet Earth: Strontium [EPE09]
Exit Planet Earth continues its exploration of the world of electro universe with an expansive, extended six track EP, featuring The Advent x Zein Ferreira, DeFeKT, London Modular Alliance, Konerytmi and Zobol. The Advent, whose weekly Gardening Club residency in the mid-90s helped to drag electro out of the realms of the retro and back into the future, team up with Zein Ferreira for a Kraftwerk-on-speed extended mix of ‘CarpeDiem’, before London Modular Alliance’s more moderately paced but still squiggle and bleep laced ‘Lump of Coal’ plus a ‘beats’ breakdown for the DJs. The B-side brings us the acid-powered ‘Pulssi’ by Konerytmi, the bouncy, breakdance-friendly ‘Radar’ by DeFeKT, and the relatively pure, optimistic sonics of Zobol’s ‘Data Wars’. Thumbs up all round.
Caustica – Kids From Drum Machine City [CAU.W005]
After a period of inactivity Caustica Waveform is back with an E.P made up of three powerful original electro tracks. In true Caustica style the real deal shades of proper electro and featured and presented – classic electro breakdance and electro jazz all designed to make you move & groove. The record comes with a full sealed artwork cover and limited edition sticker.

VA – Shadow Terminal [SYNT005]
After some time of laying in the dark, the Warsaw-based Syntetyk label and club night series emits waves yet again with their very first cassette release by various friends from the local and global underground. Tape starts with a pathos ambient track by Mchy i Porosty, followed by a desert night drive dub by Rapha. The A side continues with a wavy melodic thumper by Olivia, accompanied by a nostalgic club diver by Czech maestro Exhausted Modern and a punkish fast paced hymn done by the Colombian prodigy – Filmmaker. The B side opens with Dogpatrol’s broken jungle track and carries on with Astma’s industrial dub-driven tune. Album slowly comes to a close with a nasty distorted wave by Dyktando, dystopian radiation emitter by Chino and ends with Mala Herba’s folk inspired epic ambient drone.
Chris Mitchell – No Consensus [FCT002]
Feral Colony is the label of U.S. based artist Chris Mitchell (Vanguard Sound, Annunaki Cartel), focused on direct, improvised methods. The second cassette release “No Consensus” is a 7 grimey tracks album by Chris Mitchell himself.
Lennard Ypma – Ladies Jam [VOLREC001]
Leftfield electro and acid for Lennard Ypma’s debut ‘Ladies Jam – on his own label Volunar Records. BLS and GH-1S on the A-side make up for a heavy West Coast and electro journey. The remix of GH-1S by Beau Wanzer is also not to be missed, with his signature touch and a nauseating bassline. Flip the record to the B-side for two mind-bending acid cuts. Ladies Jam is a heavily distorted and mechanic track with eerie leads that will drag you through acid punches, while Betonsmeer offers a slowed-down bunker-style cruise with earworming acid and heavy percussion.
Shokh – S/T [BT78]
BT78 sees the return of Shokh, presenting his first material in two years. Having contributed previously to the Cold Readings VA and with outings on Omnidisc and Kompakt, the producer presents his stone cold take on retrofuturism across four tracks.
Transparent Sound – Accidents 1994-2023 [TRESOR361]
Transparent Sound are the original dons of UK electro, not exactly household names yet an act with so many under-repped classics that once you dive into their catalogue you might end up emptying your bank account on Discogs. To save you going down this calamitous path as well as to finally, raise TS to the level of notoriety they deserve, Tresor Records presents ‘Accidents 1994-2023’. Formed by Orson Bramley and Martin Brown in Bognor Regis in 1994, Transparent Sound have managed to create 30 years’ worth of some of the best electro from the British Isles, despite claiming to not know what they were doing nor how their instruments work.
Autobot-1000 – 3 Dimensions Of Space LP [IH001]
Inherent Futurism is a new label coming out of Copenhagen, Denmark and headed up by Morten Kamper, a staple in the Danish electronic music scene who’s been involved in it for more than 30 years and nowadays is running the 313vinyl_collective record store in the capital. Inherent Futurism will focus on a blend of unearthed old records and new material with no real boundaries, just a focus on quality electronic music in all forms with an inclination towards Techno and Electro. To inaugurate the label, Morten shines a light on an unsung gemstone from the Detroit Electro genre, Autobot-1000’s ‘3 Dimension Of Space’, The album comes on vinyl for the first time, the project was only out on CD and released in 2001 on Hoodwink Records from North Carolina, US.

Reflection | Reaction is a trilogy of EP’s written by Plant43 over the course of winter 2022/23, the first in the series marking the 10th release and third anniversary for the artist’s Plant43 Recordings label. Over the course of twelve tracks and over an hour of new music Emile Facey takes the listener on an emotional journey through the frosty depths of winter and into the warm sunlight of spring.

Powerful and alienating electro-techno tracks from PRZ. The ‘Synthetic Man’ gives us a little view of how his LFO brain works and delivers a fierce follow-up on his 1st release on Clone.
Bionda e Lupo – La Deutsche Vita LP [BELLADEVI]
A warm rain in August, the cool feeling of soft ice cream on the lips, golden light and tender smiles. The sweet scent of strawberries, people laughing in the backyard and autumn is already in the air. This is how the music of Bionda e Lupo feels. Joy and melancholy, warmth and goosebumps – that is “La Deutsche Vita”. Six summers – ten songs for the double album by the Berlin couple. Lively German lyrics allowing us to immerse ourselves in the world of Gertalo, as we surf on synths in the New German Wave and refresh ourselves with a splash of cheeky Schlager pop.
Timothy J. Fairplay – Hot Night For Slum Lord EP [IM013]
UK based studio wizard Timothy J. Fairplay returns to Italo Moderni with a masterpiece EP including remixes by Dj Overdose, Intergalactic Gary and Univac. Three originals and three remixes influenced by italo disco with catchy basslines and acid harmonies. It is not a surprise that Italo Moderni & Timothy J. Fairplay are great combination together and this is a fine example of his quality studio productions.
