Body Musick presents ‘Abductions’ split EP by Antonio Barbetta & Filmmaker. Frankfurt-based Antonio a.k.a Raw Ambassador, who previously released on labels like Natural Sciences & Mannequin Records, unleashes four tracks with his signature rawness and minimal synth approach that has been sounding with plenty elements that Filmmaker also resonates with. Like two brothers from different but close worlds, they finally meet in this electro junction that resembles some of the classic sounds from Detroit type beats in their own analogue vision and interpretation.

Emerging as one of the most vital producers from South America to Europe, Filmmaker is back on Veyl with the new album, Fictional Portrayals. Recorded in his home country in Envigado, Colombia, the release delivers 8 tracks of raw, body pursuits proving yet again that he remains at the forefront of EBM, industrial, wave and beyond. While always carrying the producer’s soundtrack influenced sound, the LP kicks off with the haunting ‘All About That Pyramid’ moving next to the title track’s driving energy while then shifting to the more cerebral programming of ‘Possession’ ft. Bad Faith Actor. Things are just picking up with club decimators like ‘Splitter’ and ‘Immune to Propaganda’ while also switching moods with the more sinister ‘Orphic Eggs’ and the mesmerizing ‘Continuity’. Rounding out the release is the cold, emotional ride of ‘Far From Prospect’, leaving us with a sense of dread while simultaneously questioning just what is fact and what is fiction – something we never quite know in today’s multi-dimensional existence.

‘Motion Pictures Regime’ is based on the influence of media consumption in relationships culture, where the image’s dictatorship and plastic personalities prevail over real feelings and worthy values. A soundtrack for the lovers and the broken hearted of nowadays.

Marguerite Records announced its first release scheduled for 2021: ‘MRG010’, a Various Artist compilation celebrating the label’s tenth output. A side opens up with ‘My unknown friend’ by the charming Diana Berti, a blue starry-eyed minimal synth jam, followed up by Mayo’s slo-mo acid affair ‘SloMos’. A3 is ‘Miss your stupid face’, a crunchy, metallic downbeat cut by SYNTETYK boss Dzuma, and what a better way to follow such delight than a snake charming rollercoaster by Exhausted Modern? Closing up the first side is ‘Same shit fail (shame)’, a mesmerizing slow tempo deep track by Lyon’s Big Science head honcho Warzou. Flip side is unwrapped by ‘Weaklink’ a Lliasons Dangerousesque floorfiller from Lost Soul Enterprises boss R Gamble, while ‘Alpha’ on B2 marks the return of Bianco Negativo on their label with a dreamy minimal synth // ambient techno hybrid. Sitting on B3 is the high tension cinematic EBM roller ‘Duty-bound majority’ by Colombian artist Filmmaker; B4 switches the vibe and turns full speed with a mutant electro excursion by LIES affiliated Chupacabras. Madmoizel’s ‘Culture 19’, a powerful yet playful raw post punk gem, brings the compilation to its final chapter.

Filmmaker sharing some mythical and magical sounds on the latest Phormix release. Dystopian panoramas have been a recurrent panorama on Filmmaker’s tracks and for this work the direction focused on some core elements like the entropy and chaos magic to bring a musical tribute to the goddess Eris. Filmmaker’s birth name, Fauns (derived from Faunus) has surrounded his life with inspiration from greco-roman mythology so all the energy put on ‘Discordian Disco’ is fed by the multicontextual universe and synchronicities that shaped it into a memorable tape. During the days off his touring in New Zealand, Faunes stayed in Wellington, city where these 10 tracks were recorded using his Deluge, motivated by how the other artists on this tour developed various uses and styles for this instrument also crafted in that land. The result is a collection of wave grooves and lo-fi creamed melodies which also included a special collaboration with the Belgian producer Naomie Klaus (ex Laura Palmer) on the track ‘Golden Apple’ where she delivered both male and female vocals with lynchian tones and tribal vibes. Besides the symbolism of this release, Filmmaker wants to dedicate this album to his most eclectic listeners for highlighting the soul reflected on the music since the beginning. Discordian Disco aims to cause a unique remembrance on the auditory memory of anyone who listens to it from start to finish as is the last Filmmaker’s full-length on this 2020.

Darkside electro conjurations and Gnashing EBM from Medellin, Colombia, seething with raw punk energy and foamy blood around the mouth. No nonsense body music.
