The new release on Moustache Recordings label is a collaboration between label owner David Vunk and fellow Rotterdam rogue, Ben La Desh who between them have combined to produce two tracks full of spaced out house, techno, electronic and disco feelings. First up, Turner drops a rich color palette of vibrant space disco prize strings. The creeping crescendo of synth-led brushstrokes paint a rich impressionistic glow interpersed with positive vocal samples drifting through like dutch boats in a gale. Next up Deep Valley takes off over the snow-capped mountain tops and towards the flowing river of deep techno drums. Eerie soaring strings and isolated vocal snaps conjure up images of cavernous depths of deep sea and space as we go deeper into the valley of the dolls. With releases coming on strong over the past few years La Desh continues his ascent into production adulthood on the 21st release on Moustache Recordings while Vunk’s typical high-class production values shine through this entire release. Further collaborations between this duo would be only gezellig.
Following the Dream 2 Science release on the Rush Hour Reissue series earlier this year, another NYC garage classic by Ben Cenac, also known for his Newcleus outfit, gets a much deserved reissue. Unlike Dream 2 Science, which remained an obscure record at the time, Sha-Lor became an international club hit and a Summer Of Love staple song. The timeless feel of this innocent, heartfelt vocal song sounds as fresh as it did back then and is sure to fill people’s hearts with joy again. Riviera is a band formed by a bunch of young talented gritty analogue junkies, most of which has already released on a couple of disrespected labels. The band first jams were recorded on parching tape in a sultry warehoue close to the Brenta’s muddy banks with a noisy dockyard of transistors delights.

Consistently providing quality over quantity this long awaited new 12“ surprises yet again as Fengler develops his funkier side further for the label. The A-side track „Frantic“ then immediately brings the essence of peaktime energy to the point. Bathing in melodic synth stabs, it mixes with wide open fields of euphoria. Instantly moving and memorable, it’s a track that crosses borders and unites different territories of techno and house. „6 In A Row“, the first track on the B-Side, tries to deceive with a simple & mellow arrangement but soon enough grabs the listener from behind with it’s cleverly built architechture that mounts with subtle waves to an addictive groove, a lesson in how to use a less-is-more approach to maximum effect. As if this wasn’t convincing enough the Berghain Resident now ventures further into spaced out dub structures & melodies and immerses the listener into sheer silk with the smooth „Mosaique“, a side of Marcel that he has only hinted at before but a pleasure to hear it fully realized on this track.

Jamal Moss is back on Morphine, although you wouldn’t think it by the sounds of these tracks. Both tracks clock in around the 13 minute mark and totally go there. Clued up sickness again on this excellent label.
Ojodeapolo presents the second Ep from Jorge C. who made his debut some years ago on Sean Deason Matrix label. The track ”El Effekto” opens the A side with freaky filtered jumping nu-disco treatments plus delicious horn sections. A2 Track Creation gets into deeper underwater sounds with a dubby feeling. B side is a peculiar rework of ”El Effekto” by the legendary producer Jamal Moss aka. Hieroglyphic Being who takes us into a long journey through pure Chicago noise.
