Delroy Edwards – Hangin’ At The Beach [LACR020]

Delroy Edwards has come a long way. 2012 marked his Introduction into the world of Dance Music via Ron Morelli’s Imprint LIES. After offering up essential dance floor singles like ‘4 Club Use Only’ and ‘Heart and Soul’ Edwards’ established himself as a producer with a unique touch and style. With a growing desire to control his own output and make a more significant statement, Delroy set off to start his own imprint, L.A. Club Resource. Creatively directing his own imprint became a platform for him and over the course of two years L.A.C.R. created one of the most palpable musical experiences in the field. The label released music in a range of styles from a span of generations, the only constant was the high output and stellar art direction. Many releases produced by the label head himself, Delroy’s production were lauded for their piercing simplicity, grace and attitude. In his first LP for the label, Edwards’ has arranged a sincerely personal moment. The 30-track effort marks a special moment in his growth blending current interests in punk and electronics into an outsider narrative like no other.

A Band Called Flash – S/T [FVW003]

Created by the inspired young Jared Hines and produced by master minds Ron Trent and Jonecy, this self titled follow up to ”Mother Confessor” features four etherial, lush tracks that have a live feel and are equally heavenly. Inspired by the Jazz Funk elements of UK outfit Atmosfear and the alternative Disco sounds of Dinosaur L, presented here, A Band Called Flash embrace the energy of “live” dance music. Reminiscent of the early 80’s Boogie sound, A Band Called Flash will surely capture the attention of the more eclectic, global dance floor.

Imre Kiss – Overthrown [LTWHT008]

Lobster Theremin welcome back one of the original LT fam, with Imre Kiss taking the reigns for a full on raw-power white label. With two lucid and hazy releases for LT in his wake, plus an excellent contribution to the Proto Sites catalogue, Imre finally returns with a rough and overdriven in-the-dance EP of floor-crushing fire.

Gazatech – I’m Okay [PRIVATEPERSONS001]

Private Persons share their first release packed with chilled, house-y beats by the mysterious Gazatech. “I’m Okay” is a twist of melancholic melodies and soothing beats. A dreamy, tranquilizing journey providing a soft soundtrack to a lazy late-night forest wander. Euphoric horns drift over tight snares and undulating low end, taking you on an elevated trip to the spiritual side of the cosmos.

Benedikt Frey – Out Of Here Remixes [HVN036]

Benedikt Frey’s Out Of Here gets a fresh new treatment in the hands of two mainstays of European techno: Roman Flugel and Simon Haydo. Flugel’s Cosmic Disco Drama Rework lives up to its name, maintaining the noir disco spirit of the original track but infusing it with tension-building sequences and strings that give it an extra mischievous twist. He also straightens the rhythmic skeleton and adds shuffling shakers to make it a relentless dancefloor weapon. Haydo’s remix delves into a more dismal terrain, transforming the vocals into haunted echoes, adding esoteric synths and topping it all with razor-sharp percussion in what sounds like a storm of ice asteroids falling into a lake of steel.

Cuthead – Return Of The Sample Jesus [UV040]

In a world without hope, a world with no appetite for sonic adventures, there’s only one man who can save us all. He is… the Sample Jesus! From behind the enchanted pyramids of Egypt comes a man that has nothing to prove but a lot to give. Taught by a legendary Pharaoh, he has lived the life of an eremite for decades. Exhausted after years of asceticism there was only one goal on his mind: to blow all the misery out of our heads. On the constant search for the perfect sample he listened to the finest Mongolian folk to experimental Tuvan Throat singings. It was only recently that he was returning from his self-imposed exile to come up with a record that hits deep in everybody’s soul. Hallelujah, House-heads and Hip-Hop-kids, be prepared. Listen to the word of the Sample Jesus!

VA – D’ Du Du [030EP010]

What’s in the du name? 030303 records asked three of their favourite producers with matching names to du an ep together: Ann Harbour’s D’Marc Cantu and Mark du Mosh & Paul du Lac, both from the dutch harbour city Rotterdam. The result is dynamite! A1″Mine Motion” is a monsterous jacker in the rawest form how only mr Cantu can du! On the B side Mark du Mosh takes off with a flight to “Bermuda” with a hot & steamy roaring electronic beast sitting on the wing of the plane and causing some heavy turbulence. Fortunatly du Mosh keeps us flying high with some deep emotional synths. Last but not least Paul du Lac delivers a dark psychedelic techtool called “Beta Rhythm”. A track that creeps under your skin as a virus, causing some serious haziness from noding your head.

Aybee – The Heart Of The Sun [DBRV028]

Aybee returns on his always reliable Deepblak imprint to give us another dose of the real proper deep stuff. Just one side on this release from the man now in Berlin, but it’s quality not quantity we say. “The Heart Of The Sun” is a raw and tunnelling cut with eerie synth melodies, a killer bassline and dark analogue drums giving this track its momentum and its edge. A fine taste of a long-mooted new Aybee album due on Deepblak in the coming months.
