Now, the Spaniard announces his album “The Time of Cruel Miracles” which includes 12 original tracks and 4 remixes by Substance, Architectural, Rivet and Zero Mass (30drop + Geistform).
A tribute to Andreas Gehm (1972 – 2016), German producer, king of acid and inspiration to many including the artists in this compilation. All proceeds will go towards funding Andreas Gehm’s post-mortem affairs, managed by his best friend, Joe Kurta. Long live the king. Direct out of deepest Neukolln emerges Z O D I A C 4 4. Rusty, broken and cantankerous we spill forth our first ever release with Dungeon Acid at the helm. Dungeon Jams sees the Swedish producer summon madness from the depths of his mind and unleashes it on the world via his Computerriddimdrummachiner and the Analoguewavecombosignalizer. Aboard the pirate ship are fellow Viking Rivet and Nordic saint DJ Fett Burger with both bringing their own inimitable and unparalleled sonic grooves to the battleground.
Swedish acid techno legend Patrik Sjern has experienced something of a career revival since an unexpected production credit on a FXHE 12″ last year; this EP for the newly minted Virgo Rising label is his second of 2013 following that excellent 12″ for the Fit operation out of Detroit. Not bad for someone who’s been seemingly absent since a ’95 12″ on the Fuck Pig Recordings label. The lead cut packs similar heat to Steve Poindexter’s seminal “Work That Mutha Fucker” with its hyperactive ’90s-styled acid synths weaving in between hardcore Adam X industrial strength sonics. Sharing the A-side is the cut up, percussive and broken ghetto techno of “Mannitj”, while Adam Rivet’s remix to the title track slows in BPM, opting for something much lighter in comparison, it’s equally jacking, with uplifting synths stopping the EP from becoming too much of a militant monster.
Rivet’s twists it in suitable fashion for the Skudge label…one gritty house cut backed with an epic flipside.
Rivet puts a lot of effort in his sounds and his production. This is not another copycat. First out on the EP Amid the Roar is Metrist, a sexy march that blends the stiffness 80-ties disco with techno from the future. On the b-side Marcel Fengler takes his turn on Metris. He keeps the string of the original, chops up the bass and creates a dancefloor monster with a big anthem alert stamp on it. Amid the Roar ends with what might be the strongest track on the ep.
