VA – Some Have to Dance… Some Have To Kill… TWO EP [MEC033]

Second instalment of Mecanica Records compilation focused to obscure techno/EBM/electro. A selection of new and unreleased tracks by six projects from different latitudes. The opening track is a collaboration between Dmitry Distant (Latvia) and Gestalt (Russia) with a dark electro tune that works perfect as warm-up. Deep Pill (USA) offers a versatile technoid tune and Blac Kolor (Germany) closes the A side with a hard and hypnotic piece. Viktor Kalima (Finland) opens the B side with a body music attack, followed by Santiago (USA) with four minutes of pure psychosis and dementia, and Rendered, the duo formed by Daniel Myer (Germany) and Clément Perez (France), closes this sonic trip with a strong and massive cut that will leave you attached to a never ending loop in your head.
Savage Grounds – In Not [MSQ004]

Authors of the 4th release of the Mosaique label are the project Savage Ground, known for its works on Lux Rec, Pinkman Broken Dreams and Enfant Terrible. The project hides two people – Daniele Cosmo (owner of Lux Rec) and CCO. “In not”” is a mixture of synth wave, analog distortion, experimental dance electronic music and vocals. The EP contains 4 tracks that divided the two sides of the plate into two different moods.
VA – All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace [PSR003]

Public System presents a monster collection of the grubbiest, punked out lo fi deviant electronics from the true underground. Some names are more familiar, such as the excellent Templeyard Studios with the uneasy clatter of ”Take66”, while Buttechno brings a blistering array of tones to the forefront for some truly adventurous acid abstractions. There’s a lot of lesser known delights to revel in though, from the boxy beatdown of IXVLF, the darkwave electro thrust of Kluentah and the intricate percussive science of Meze. This may be dirty dance music for wayward souls, but there are some seriously fresh ideas lurking on this ludicrously valuable package.
Black Merlin – KØK Podcast 003

KØK presents a vinyl mix from Black Merlin during their party in Nantes from 15.06.2018.
SΛRIN / Xarah Dion – Collision [LINDA004]
VA – Dynamics Of Pressure [VO001]

Vague Output is a party, collective and label out of Baltimore that opposes any teleological understanding of underground electronic music. The label debuts with a perfect collection of EBM, Italo, Synthwave, and Proto-Techno from Veleno Viola label head Francesco Baudazzi’s alter egos Violet Poison, Bakunin Commando, and Diana Berti.
Innsyter – Magnetic Healing [CYN002]

Rough and ready machine tracks from Brazilian producer Innsyter (LA Club Resource). CYN002 picks up where Coletivo Vandalismo left off, channeling that same wild, DIY bedroom studio spirit across nine individual recordings. Opening with sprawling synth motifs fighting against a steady rhythm track, ‘Desintegrado’ sounds like an industrial dub punk trying to channel early Cluster or Moebius and strangely succeeding. The rest of the LP treats us to vaguely Drexciyan, subaquatic electro (‘Bries’) and twisted lo-fi minimalism with bonus eerie monologue samples (‘Superficial Love’). The one recurring theme on Magnetic Healing is Innsyter’s clear love for mournful, post-punk inspired melodies. It comes across loud and clear on almost every track yet never sounds tired. Things eventually draw to a close with the hopelessly romantic new wave instrumental ‘Forest Shaman’ – a short ballad for all those weary-eyed party-goers who stuck around til the sun came up.

Savage Grounds – Es Un Flash Electrónico [FMR005]

The new Femur release features the Swiss duo Savage Grounds, agents of a dirty, raw and miserable sound. ‘Es un flash Electronico’ is a true exercise of proximity and freshness combining mid-tempo landscapeses with stimulating accelerated bursts. The release consists of 3 original tracks and a remix by Esplendor Geometrico, which elevates the original called Ultima linea to another dimension.
Black Merlin – Oba Enka [MNQ124]

George Thompson aka Black Merlin is joining the family of Mannequin Records with this insane EP for the Death of the Machines, the series dedicated to new artists ready to smash the dancefloor. 3-tracks strongly permeated by drones’n’noises, EBM basslines and a 4/4 straight tecnoish kick drum.
Mick Wills – Ravage Mix Series 74

Recorded at “We Are Monsters” at Monarch – San Francisco (23rd June 2018)
Limit-Xperience – OE001 [OE001]

Brand new label Orden Extática from New York, featuring Loraine Sangre and Silent Servant. Limit-Xperience is a culmination of formative experiences as well as present of evolving influences of Silent Servant & L. Sangre. The two tap into both their distinct shared points of view, as well as integrating of the space where their individual inclinations lie. A joint expression of driven electronic music, and eras since passed filter thru and draw from electro, techno, industrial, and more of their musical fundamentals. In similarities as well as differences, their coming together allows for a permutation that is their own.
VA – Pubblicazione 002 [458695.002]

The second instalment of the ongoing Pubblicazione series serves up a triple-header of dark, intense and otherworldly experimental treats. On the A-side Italian artist Violet Poison invites us to “The Drome”, a place where druggy EBM arpeggio lines, throbbing synth motifs, discordant female vocal samples and thrusting industrial funk drums fight it out to the death. Over on the flipside, Diana Berti gives us a glimpse of her “Spider Pit”, an altogether more melodious and crystalline place laden with glistening synthesizer motifs, bustling machine percussion and raw arpeggio bass. To round things off, Opfer Der Hingabe channels the spirit of the Duratti Column on the slow and seductive bliss of “The Victim (1990)”. Progressive industrial to cinematic ambient, via new beat synth explorations.

Broken English Club – White Rats [LIES120]

L.I.E.S. presents the first part of Broken English Club new album trilogy, White Rats. Following on from last years The English Beach, White Rats is described as, “a collection of caustic and absurd portraits of the human animal”. Oliver Ho continues to push his industrial influenced sound with metallic acid tracks, guitar noise/drone experiments and heavy synth wave once again with this nine track release. White Rats part 2 and 3 will surface in 2019.
Nikolajev – Retta [PA02]

Tallinn Lekker club co-founder Robert Nikolajev hits hard with his new 12” release ‘Retta’ on Päästevest. Nikolajev channels raw grit and pulsating energy in Retta (dance mix). The flip side houses an internal dialogue of unnerving tension.
VA – Prophecy & Progress: UK Electronics 1978-1990 [PM24]

Peripheral Minimal presents ‘Prophecy + Progress: UK Electronics 1978 – 1990 LP’, a thirteen-track compilation that represents the burgeoning Electronic music scene in the UK. This isn’t simply another synth pop compilation, or some nostalgic frippery, but an eclectic mix of acts that were experimenting with newly available technology at a time when the punk scene had imploded and the music press was busy coining new genres as an attempt to continue its legacy. In the bubbling underground were a myriad of experimenters recording in relative secrecy in Industrial cities like Sheffield or post-war London, at a time when the Tories came back into power and utterly altered the political landscape, and produced a generation of, ‘Thatcher’s Children’ (selfish, arrogant and materialistic). The antidote seemed to be quiet rebellion in the shape of dark and alienating soundscapes by acts that are now considered ‘pioneers’, or achieving cult status, in a new era of throwaway pop and trite ‘new wave’ impersonators. This compilation is an attempt to rekindle those heady days of experimentation and to encourage new generations to rebel and forgo the fashionable posturing that comes with anything vaguely ‘interesting’.
