It’s hard to imagine that this was really created over 2 decades ago, and Thema made sure to find the right minds to revise this masterpiece. Function and Jerome Sydenham where chosen for this one.

Abstract Division – Relevance EP [LABRYNTH017]
Abstract Division venture away from their own Dynamic Reflection imprint for the first time, releasing the Relevance EP for Portuguese label Labyrinth. The deep and repetitive bleeps of “Relevance” suggest it’s a track for peak-time dancefloors during longer sets. Pacou inventively reworks the original into an effective loop made up of the same elements, only upping the intensity, whereas Michaelangelo does away with any bleeps in his version, substituting them for an acid bassline and dissonant synths. Forward Strategy Group maintain Abstract Division’s late night vibe via subtle blips embedded in dusty atmospherics and ricocheting reverberations.
Jeff Derringer – Situational Ethics [MRECLTD014]
Jeff Derringer fashions hypnotic loops into deep and darkly charged techno. Now comes Situational Ethics, Jeff’s first full three-track EP. Over “Ambition”, “Compassion” and “Shame” Jeff Derringer masterfully builds tension with shamanic cyclical rhythms and punishing basslines, weaved here into potent and intoxicating concoctions from haunted beginning, viper-laden middle to heavyweight end. Electric Deluxe bedfellow Brendon Moeller then concludes the EP with a rework of “Shame” plied with signature Moeller-crafted sounds over a punchy, turbulent beat that only just about lifts Jeff Derringer’s powerful spell.
Tripeo – First Trip [TRIP001]
First release in a brand-new series of heavily textured, hypnotic and puristic techno by one of Holland’s veteran’s in this area of expertise. This twelve marks the official launch of the second alter ego from Nijmegen’s Darko Esser. You might call Tripeo the nemesis of his other project Onionboy. Where Onionboy is as eclectic as he can get, Tripeo is all about niches and purism. All trips are inward journeys through explicit sounddesigns, textures and rhythms.
Dare & Haste – Extraction EP [PRTP004]
Dare & Haste delivers a tough peak-time package on Pareto Park, a razor sharp techno transmission from Birmingham via Barcelona. This huge 11 track release of dark and detuned, fist-pumping techno is manifestly modern but nods to Birmingham’s techno history. The remixes represent the city’s current techno events, the release includes Atomic Jam’s Chris Finke, plus artists who co-founded AUM with Dare&Haste, as well as the Resonance crew which includes previous Pareto Park contributor Jake Conlon. This is uncompromising and unpretentious warehouse techno.

Terrence Dixon – Untitled 1,2,5 [SUB009]
Subspec presents Terrence Dixon’s latest EP ‘Untitled 1,2,5′ featuring three all new tracks in the inimitable style you’d expect from Detroit’s Master of Repetition, which call back to his Utensil releases and Minimalism series. All three tracks delve deep into minimal spaces that he has developed since his early 90′s beginnings. Progression through repetition and close attention to nuance and detail underpin Untitled 1,2,5.
Dimi Angélis & Jeroen Search – Rhetorica EP [STHLMLTD025]
Dimi Angelis & Jeroen Search make their first appearance on Par Grindvik’s Stockholm LTD label with their ‘Rhetorica EP’. This EP is a lesson in deep, patient and hypnotic sounds. ‘Divisio’ utilizes dubbed out delays as they work the percussion into gentle builds and breaks in a subtle but effective manner. ‘Partitio’ steps towards the darker tones the duo are known for with a relentless rhythm underpinning celestial Sci-Fi bleeps and bells. Both originals carry warm analogue sounds and were recorded in one take giving them a continuously evolving, organic feel. The EP is roaded by a Jonas Kopp remix.
Jeroen Search – Dimensions EP [SECT12]
The Dimension EP can be seen as a veritable coup from the Sect label, as iconic Dutch techno artist Jeroen Search makes his label debut with some typically wall rattling techno functionalism. Search’s tireless energy for one take productions has seen him at his most productive this year and as always his tracks still retain a finely sculpted feel regardless of his preferred approach. Swiftly spiralling undercurrents of analogue acid merge in synchronicity with the tightly wound drums to provide one relentlessly driven groove on “Paralell Lives” with intermittent ascendant hat rolls and subaqueous keys worthy of the Something In The Sky series only serving to further hypnotise your senses. Complementing this, “Section A” is gruff concrete techno at its finest and “Inverse” demonstrates Search’s ease for producing well crafted minimalism.
Dino Sabatini – Shaman’s Path [PRGCD002]
Dino Sabatini is not just a Prologue artist having the first 12” release in our catalogue, he is also one of the most authentic Prologue artists who is responsible for providing the well known Prologue sound aesthetic. Dino´s productions always deliver exactly our vision of music; deep, hypnotic, atmospheric and mind-driven. It’s no surprise that we are more than proud to announce the third Prologue album this year, which comes from our high respected mate from Berlin. The album is called “Shaman’s Paths” and it is more than just an album for all of us. Dino´s Shaman’s Paths is his personal interpretation of the sounds of Africa, which provides since decades the basis of trance in order to loose your mind in sounds and drum arrangements and it is his personal interpretation of the Prologue sound aesthetic. The Album is planned for October 2012 and will be distributed over “WordandSound”. One part will be a CD mixed with all tracks, which simply is the Shaman’s Paths to follow. Further we will also have one 12” Vinyl which will contain the most club oriented hypnotic tracks from the Album and a complete digital album with all separate tracks. After the legendary “Nighttime World Volume 1” and “Nighttime World Volume 2”, Robert Hood returns with the long awaited “Motor: Nighttime World 3” on Music Man. With this, Robert Hood returns to the project he first started on Austria’s Cheap label back in 1995 and subsequently continued in 2000 on M-Plant. Fusing his trademark minimal techno into jazz inspired moods and inflections, Hood emerges from the smoke-lit shadows of a downbeat, but not beaten, Motor City metropolis. Inspired by Julien Temple’s documentary ‘Requiem For Detroit?’ Robert Hood examines the life, history and future of Detroit’s motor industry and its workforce, set against a backdrop of decay, despair, hope and re-birth.
Oscar Mulero – Black Propaganda [WU031]
Warm Up Recordings presents Oscar Mulero’s new album: Black Propaganda. Nine new tracks that reflect a new twist in his sound, going deep into dark territories; a black and white approach to dance electronics, where shades and echoes and drones are mixed with obscure rhythm treatments that go from slow tempos to more uplifting beats. Sonically speaking, his sound has become simpler, with less elements but better sound design. Less is more. All tracks have a common feeling, like a soundtrack for a sad European landscape: mental, industrial, repetitive and definitely non-melodic.
