https://hipodrome.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/hipodrom006.jpg

Probably you already found out that we are preparing for the 1 year celebration and our special guest is Mick Wills [Nation, Minimal Rome, Gigolo Records – Stuttgart, DE]. This will be his second visit to Sibiu (after 5 years) and his first in Cluj-Napoca. Many words can be said about the man who started his djing career almost 25 years ago and has released his first EP back in 2001, on International Deejay Gigolo Records, but we leave the words to the only three Romanians with releases on Gigolo. Instead, we present an exclusive dj mix from Mick recorded live in Jena, Germany, on July 24th this year.

Enjoy and “Dance like nobody is watching”.

Dj Kaos – Horny Morning Loop [JOLLYJAMS001]

disc

First release, on Dj Kaos’ imprint Jolly Jams, comes in the shape of “Horny Morning Loop” and it features remixes by Eric Duncan under his Dr Dunks moniker and Till Von Sein & Aera. Dr Dunks remix is a hands-in-the-air sort of affair with a killer bassline and a cool lil’ synth riff. On the flip Till Von Sein & Aera takes things to a darker, slightly more acidy direction.

Robert Hood – Power To The Prophet [MPM009]

Robert Hood - Power To Prophet / Clash

Stunning new EP room the master of the true minimal groove. Infectious drum pads and an acidic twist render the title track unbeatable. The thundering kick and warehouse style acid line on ‘Power To Prophet’ will add energy to any dancefloor. ‘Clash’ is a nod to the old skool Chicago minimal techno.

“Shake Your Body Down Spiraling” out of an original live studio jam, this track has been tearing up clubs this summer. Showing due respect for early Chicago acid house & first-wave Detroit techno,it reverberates with the influences and atmospheres experienced amidst the clubs and out-door parties of 89-94, yet sounds like the here & now.  “Twilight Another” edited live Discreet Unit session, flowing in and out of a huge pulse line, the track just sounds just like it should.

Automatic Tasty – In It For The Money EP [LDR006]

https://i0.wp.com/imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS398858-01A-MED.jpg

Lunar Disko present their 6th release, a fine five tracker from young Irish producer Automatic Tasty. ‘I’ve missed the last bus home’ delivers a cracking electro acid jam, peppered with punchy Alden Tyrell style edits and elegant synthwork. On a slower electro jacking tip ‘I Can See You House From Here’ works out crisp 707 patterns with a nod to Drexciya. The most affecting track here must be the final cut of 606 & 101 interplay ‘Autonomous System’, undoubtedly owing to Japanese Telecom releases, but executed with a heartfelt melancholy requiring the attention of any electro fiends. The release comes with a free CD with 3 extra tracks from Automatic Tasty when you buy the record from Lunar Disko.
