Discreet Unit – Shake Your Body Down [PN09]

“Shake Your Body Down Spiraling” out of an original live studio jam, this track has been tearing up clubs this summer. Showing due respect for early Chicago acid house & first-wave Detroit techno,it reverberates with the influences and atmospheres experienced amidst the clubs and out-door parties of 89-94, yet sounds like the here & now. “Twilight Another” edited live Discreet Unit session, flowing in and out of a huge pulse line, the track just sounds just like it should.

Automatic Tasty – In It For The Money EP [LDR006]

Lunar Disko present their 6th release, a fine five tracker from young Irish producer Automatic Tasty. ‘I’ve missed the last bus home’ delivers a cracking electro acid jam, peppered with punchy Alden Tyrell style edits and elegant synthwork. On a slower electro jacking tip ‘I Can See You House From Here’ works out crisp 707 patterns with a nod to Drexciya. The most affecting track here must be the final cut of 606 & 101 interplay ‘Autonomous System’, undoubtedly owing to Japanese Telecom releases, but executed with a heartfelt melancholy requiring the attention of any electro fiends. The release comes with a free CD with 3 extra tracks from Automatic Tasty when you buy the record from Lunar Disko.

Steven Tang mix and interview
Cassy – Seteachootherfree [PERL082]
Mr. Intl – The Groove [THEGROOVE01]

Hercules and Love Affair /Andy Butler and Jason Kendig reanimate the vocal of Madonna’s ‘Into the groove’, but as it would have sounded if the scene had taken place in Berlin’s Berghain today. A gritty bassline that is immediately recognizable, fat and moody synth hits, and a killer acidic 101 line transport Madonna into a dirty warehouse.
Hipodrome Podcast 003 – Das Komitee
