VA – The Dying Lights [LXRC023]

Lux Rec enters its fifth year of existence. A time of adventures in electronic sounds, exploring the margins and the darkest corners. To celebrate all victories and failures Cosmo & Faber compiled this release, the number 23, collecting material from old acquaintances and musicians that are new to the label. The Dying Lights is a collection of tracks that reflects the path Lux Rec followed these past years, acid, low-fi, analog rudimental techno, melodies of pain and sorrow. Six tracks on two vinyls, from light to dark, to accompany you, soothe and haunt you, to the only known end. Tracks tracks by Villa Abo, CCO, Juanpablo & Sneaker, Drvg Cvltvre, Echo 106 and Luciano Lamanna & Daniele Cosmo.

Drvg Cvltvre – This Place Of Wrath And Tears [OMD002]

A prolific producer from an underground punk DIY background, Vincent Koreman aka Drvg Cvltvre was previously known for his experimental techno releases as RA- X in the ’90s, on labels such as Bunker and KK Records. Stepping up to the new Omnidisc imprint, he delivers an EP packed with uniquely gritty, yet melodic techno weapons.

Broken Arrows – So Few Truths [GD010]

Broken Arrows are the powerhouse duo of London’s Bill Ambrose and Spruxx. United over an envy inducing collection of vintage and modern synths and drum machines. Broken Arrows are the sound of a slime coated pansexual Club D’Amore as populated by malfunctioning ED-209s getting real freaky. Taking cues from classic EBM, Minimal Synth, these three dark-fucking-wave destroyers are complimented by a remix from the one-man-brutalist-factory known as Drvg Cvltvre, taking the title track and twisting it into a reimagined 8-bit NES grinder / grindr.

Drvg Cvltvre – Telepathic Warfare [COSMOS003]

DRVG CVLTYRE - Telepathic Warfare

Drvg Cvltvre is now back with a full EP of his own on Dutch label COS_MOS. Since 2009, Vincent Koreman a.k.a. Drvg Cvltvre has been churning out his own acid, no wave and experimental house and now kicks off the new year in style with three more inventive offerings. ‘New Earth Army’ is a slow, heavyweight and coarse track with rattling chords, angry percussion and elastic drums that manages to be physical and tough yet groovy and playful at the same time. ‘We Have Become The Filth of the Universe’ is a big, fat, heavy wedge of slow motion techno with monstrous drums and wild acid lines all spraying about wildly for the duration. It’s a warehouse sized track that will reduce the ‘floor to a writhing mess and finally ‘Possessed’ is a sci-fi riddled track with lots of spacey synths, filtered analogue lines and paranoid sirens all making for a turbulent brew of dark and otherworldly energy.

VA – Uncanny Vacation [UVAC001]

Uncanny Valley and Permanent Vacation are joining forces for an Uncanny Vacation! There has always been a lively exchange between Dresden and Munich and both labels are known for releasing a wide variety of music so it was only natural to team up for a joint release. The record starts off with Permanent Vacation-regular and UK-veteran DMX Krew and his “Astro Logical” which is as sharp and crisp as Electro can go. The bass line strikes hard but he also squeezes some great melancholic synth lines out of his machines. After that, Uncanny Valley’s Sandrow M finally gives access to the much in demand live version of “Prayervan”, a tune that everybody has been singing along during his live sets. On the flipside, Jacob Korn hands in “Eieiei” which rises on a percussion-heavy drum basement to a discoid House stomper thanks to an irresistible sample straight from an obscure flea market find. Drvg Cvltvre delivers a tropical House jam. “See You Again” is riding on a funky Disco bass line and creates a warm and cosy atmosphere with a whole bag of sound ideas.

Emile Strunz – North Sea Body Music [FLR010]

‘Merck 274350’ With its propulsive mechanical basslines, industrial-strength percussion, and a Germanic vocodered mantra, this Teutonic Panzer Tank of a track takes absolutely no prisoners – an electronic matter of fact statement inspired by the passing of time, fate, circumstance, and synchronicity. Holland’s misanthropic high priest of psychedelic, doomy, dark house & techno, Drvg Cvltvre, delivers a trippy interpretation, turning the track into a lysergic love letter to this iconic chemical catalyst, maintaining the dynamic bassline of the original but adding a nagging 303 line to deliver an explosive 3am dancefloor device. One Step Closer to Heaven begins with a metronomic, rhythmic New Beat stomp and a nagging insidious synth refrain that recalls the more electronic side of New Order. Muscular synth riffs then drop in and out of the mix, taking the track into dark EBM territory and ramping up the pressure before the influences of Giorgio Moroder and Cerrone come to the fore, propelling the track into a rapture of hypnotic celestial electronic disco.

Drvg Cvltvre – American Psychosis [Part Two] [SHIP023.2]

Shipwrec serve up a second instalment of the American Psychosis project by pioneering Dutch producer Drvg Cvltvre. He is known for his experimental and boundary pushing sounds and it’s no different here, on either track. The first, ‘March into Nothingness’ is a truly bleak and foreboding affair with serrated synths and thick, dense fog hanging in the air above slow and purposeful drums. Like a post apocalyptic industrial estate it is a raw and arresting place to be. ‘Drown Into The Eternal Twilight’ is then an even harder edge techno stomper with angry synth lines, tough drums and tons of white noise darkening the foreboding airwaves.

Boston 168 – The Drill EP [OY007]

Boston 168 is a project born thanks to the ”infamous” duo formed by D-Vince and Sergio Pace, a new way inside Old and Young’s mind. Slow, dirty and rotten. A flow that comes direct from the analog machines. To complete the EP Old and Young is pleased to present Drvg Cvltvre, the man from Tilburg remixed one track with his style which ranges between doom disco / psychic house / slow, doomy, dark house and techno.

Drvg Cvltvre – American Psychosis [Part one] [SHIP023.1]

Shipwrec proudly present one of the pioneers of Dutch electronics, Vincent Koreman. Under the mask of Drvg Cvltvre brutish 303 soaked anger is being doled out. An Acid washed Industrial wrath comes in the form of American Psychosis [Part one]. “Acid Flash” sees a new collaboration with Bournmouth’s Chris Moss Acid for a burning piece of aggression. Violent knob squawk is further punished by bullying beats, cruel claps and some late night horror. “I’ll Wear Your Face On A Chain” has the same red mist behind the eyes. Shrill 303 chords run into abrasive drums with darkened vocals prophesising pain.

The second comp on Holland’s 030303 shows the beauty, depth and variety of the Roland TB-303 more than ever in the history of the label. Moving away from IDM and braindance this time, all that’s presented to you is gorgeous dancefloor mayhem with great personality. Contributions by Elec Pt.1, Jonny 3 Snares, Automatic Tasty, Cosmic Force and Dexter all have a classic yet leftfield feel to it. About half of the 10 tracks diverge a little from this excellent recipe. Roy of the Ravers’ track ‘Acid Hors d’Oevre’ stands out for it melodic raving ecstacy; the track may well be the main hit of the Bangface-style rave community this year. Further down the line, Kid Machine’s ‘Mirage’ brings impressive synth-wave-disco madness on a distinctive 80s tip – this one is for fans of Legowelt. Then Jared Wilson’s cut – amazingly – brings us back to the time we first heard Choice’s ‘Acid Eiffel’: classic stuff that will never bore the ones who feel it. Another BIG one is for Drvg Cvltvre who delivers some down-to-midtempo sickness, distantly reminiscing of 33 1/3’s ‘Searchin”, but then on acid.

Drvg Cvltvre – Offender Status EP [PNKMN001]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS474901-01A-MED.jpg

The first release of the new Dutch label Pinkman contains four great tracks from Drvg Cvltvre, formerly known as RA-X. His music is slow, doomy, with broken disco and house elements, focusing on on hypnotic repetition and percussion. The first track is the cult hit “Offender Status”, deeply doomed disco that will hypnotize the dance floor as soon as you put that needle on. Next is the slow melodramatic track “Quasimodo Predicted All Of this”. On the flip you’ll find “Lingettes Humides”, a typical westcoast-ish electro disco track with a theme that will be stuck in your head forever. The final track “Dakar” takes you on a voyage through the Mediterranean Sea, raw submarine house with a middle east theme.

Drvg Cvltvre – Everything Oblivion EP [V024]

The Hague Electronix veteran Vincent Koreman, Bunker veteran and Angelmaker label owner, presents his new project Drvg Cvltvre with the first release on Viewlexx. Koreman describes the project as an outlet for slow, doomy disco and experimental house, yet the superbly titled opening track “Bring Me Your Labradoodle” long with “Hermes Russia” and “Heart Beat” has more in common with the deranged techno of Gesloten Cirkel. Amidst all this, the vaguely unsettling “Monkey Man” sounds like Chicago Shags remixing Analord.
