VA – Circuit D’Actes Vol. 3 [LFL008]

https://i0.wp.com/images.junostatic.com/300/CS495262-01A-MED.jpg

The third installation of the Circuit D’Actes series from Belgian-French label La Forme Lente. In keeping with the spirit of its acclaimed predecessors, this new release offers a focus on modern acts (2 tracks each) as much as an overview of all things synth-based. From Position Parallèle (Geoffroy D of Dernière Volonté) and Kline Coma Xero’s dark romanticism to the self-described “No future pop” of Illustration Sonore (feat. members of Dolina, Âme de Boue, Jeunesse Fantôme and Froe Char) and Új Látásmód Fúzió /Post-Festum minimalistic soundscapes or Shiny Black Mater’s (former Le Syndicat Electronique) take on 19th century nursery rhyme, every track is striking evidence of the creative forces within the synth wave scene.

Phantom Love – Phantom Love [MNQ036]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS489836-01A-MED.jpg

Mannequin Records is simply elated to present the debut 12” EP from Phantom Love, a mysterious Kosmische act from Southern Europe. Emerging from the majestic and fiercely sun-trapped lands of the Old Continent, Phantom Love takes you along a dazing journey through a spectral yet dreamy haze of spacey psychedelia. Drawing inspiration and guidance from the ever-revered mitt European and Mediterranean tradition of Kraut and Cosmic rock, Phantom Lovemanages to encapsulate and transcend the formulas normally associated with these genres. A retro-futuristic feast for the ears, a production that is equally analogue and digital, haunting and exotic, Phantom Love’s debut is a sonic sculpture of obsessive arpeggios and reverb-drenched strings. Against this arcane melodic canvas, tribal and shape-shifting drums structures fight and discipline the liquid interplay and superimposition of cymbals and cowbells delays.

Albert van Abbe – No Comment_008 [NOCOMMENT008]

Albert van Abbe is back full force on his own platform, No Comment. He presents two brutally deep originals, stoic and dustier then before, backed up with a Rudolf Klorzeiger remodel. Klorzeiger last appeared in ’99 as producer of Dopplereffekt’s Gesamtkunstwerk on Dataphysix Engineering…

The Exaltics – The Great Escape [PANZERKREUZ1011]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS496338-01A-MED.jpg

Barely escaping the latest ‘Treuhand’ terror of the ex-Weimar Republic, ex-Third Reich and ex-DDR territory, ‘The Exaltics’ finally comes with His fourth and heaviest piece of ‘Zwangsarbeit’ so far within the realm of the Bunker/Panzerkreuz corpus, as this is true black ritual acid and darkcore industrial techno to the max! oh, by the way, did I already mention the war?

VA – Substanz 001 [RMR010]

Germany’s Robotmachine Records steps up with a gorgeous little collection of tracks by some new names in the game and delivers a fine lesson in electro-ridden foul-play. Das Muster’s “Immaterieller Export” is a noisy, Drexciyan blaster with all guns blazing, whereas “Astral Exit” by =UHU= is a spacier, more sci-fi kind of track – a glorious mashup of electro squalls and battleship sonics. Thomas Kress gives us “Fabelhafte Welt Der Anomalie”, another nasty and hard-hitting power-cut, whilst Bruno Binary’s “Binary Control” takes Kraftwerk-style robotics and adds a harder edge to create yet another floor-burner.

VA – The Descent Of Man [ELER003]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS492006-01A-MED.jpg

The Descent of Man EP is the third and last part of a trilogy on vinyl dedicated to Charles Darwin studies. This final chapter is focused on the darkest side of electronic music and his impact on human psychology. As Charles Darwin studied the evolution of physical and mental traits, we want to show how obscure, trembling and aggressive sounds generate an increasing sense of agitation and loss while mild and gloomy atmospheres can relieve the body and brain, achieving a peaceful state of mind. Don’t be afraid to move into a shady space. This is not the end even if it could be.

VA – Datafunk v1.0 [AFSLP001]

https://imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS503667-01A-MED.jpg

Adventurous electro project featuring a what might be regarded as a who’s-who in the current electro scene, reeling-in names such as DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, Ian Martin, Shemale, Elec Pt.1; with perhaps lesser known talents such as Linear Synthesis, Federico Leocata, Koova and Das Muster. A fine selection of tracks which successfully presents fresh sounds by tried-and-tested names, while simultaneously introducing upcoming and arguably lesser known, but by no means any less talented artists.
