Galaxian – Libertine 20 [LIB20]

”Pacifying The Population” thrusts us into a world where the dominator culture acts like a ruthless drug cartel, us it’s compliant consumers. The highly-charged ten tracker LP evokes a narcotic frenzy like atmosphere that surges into the consciousness and pulses through the body like a craved hit. Once again Mark Kastner propels us through a unique musical landscape at the very edge of the sonic territories. The dominator culture enforces what is moral, ethical, worthy or valid, selling lifestyles, enforcing rituals, “pushing” values, incentivizing the pathological, imposing our needs and beliefs. Increasingly displaying hallmarks of a cruel drug cartel /drug addict, dependency dynamic. The population hooked and enslaved to it’s destructive needs.

Galaxian – We Are Power LP [SHIPLP09/DOWN6]

“We Are Power”, Galaxian’s first album in over a decade, cuts a new path. On this Foul-Up and Shipwrec joint release, Mark Kastner presents a rumination on the confrontation and power clash between humankind, nature, the spiritual and mechanistic industrial growth societies. What is authentic power? What is granted power? What is innate natural power? How is power accessed, wielded, utilised, felt? On this album the blistering beats and razor-edged rhythms that characterise the Glaswegian’s productions have been softened, the menace melted, the angst soothed (well almost.) Across eleven tracks, distinct audio vistas are surveyed. This album is unmistakable Galaxian, it marks a high-point and brings with it a culmination of intense expression.

VA – The Orbitants 2 [FU.ME010]

Get on board 5 new space alchemists for the next level of “The Orbitants”! The “Panic Side” (Side A) refers to a synthetic melody transition from the beatless Heinrich Dressel’s intro, to the mystical drama “Source Reality”, a utopistic abstract-composition by Galaxian, who serving his anarchic vision of electronic music.
Falling into the wicked flash born from Foreign Sequence’s Oberheim.
Entering to the “Black Side” (Sibe B), the virus infected the system: it’s the Lake Haze electro hit! Spooky pads triggering the edgy arpeggio, body of the track.

Galaxian X Stingray313 – NU-1000 [SHIP036]

An Atlantic crossover brings together Detroit’s Stingray313 and Glasgow’s Galaxian for a very special 12″. More collaboration than split, the EP sees each artist fly solo as well as combining their admirable analogue abilities. Pressures are high from the outset, Galaxian twists and teases patterns in the reverbing reverence of “Storm Coming.” BPMs surge as the two merge for the cold “NU-1000.” Lilting notes ghost between rasping rhythms. And it is around such racing drums that warmth flows, as in the meandering softness of “Graphene.” Beats don’t abate as Stingray takes the helm for the blistering bass of “Dopant.”
