Staffan Linzatti – The Dynamic Dispatch [FIELD025]

A simulation in which each universe would serve as a world for future humans. A world indistinguishable from the ‘real thing’. As we write this, ‘The Dispatch’ – your future as humans – is being coded and compiled. During execution, our existence will end – and your new world will replace ours. Our story, our memories will live on in your reality. Our creation, embedded deep within the ‘The Dispatch’, will be a brave tale of perhaps our greatest achievement – if not our very last.

Eduardo De La Calle presents his new brand, the Monogram Systems. The new and fresh 12inch will be the first reference catalog number on the Monogram Series. Four new solid techno scifi tools especially made for vinyl DJ lovers and dancefloor killers. This time Eduardo has left his imagination, leaving stereotypes and minimalist alucinations to focus on a more technical mode and puristic style in terms of music production. Svreca & Voices From The Lake – Between The Lines [SPAZIO008]
Italian label Spazio Disponibile continues its fine run of form with a new EP that features four collaborative tracks by the bosses Voices From The Lake (aka Donato Dozzy and Neel) versus Semantica boss Svreca. The EP is a result of their first studio session all together in Rome. All three have been perfecting cinematic ambient techno for years now and have the cerebral, atmospheric aesthetic down to a tee. Here they offer up proof across a series of hypnotic tracks that take you deep into your own mind. It’s alien and abstract yet wholly consuming and will zone you out in no time.
Jeff Mills – Planets [AXCD051]
The history of Planets … It has been 100 years since the British composer Gustav Holst introduced his most famous score «The Planets». An elegant musical tour to each one of our Planets in the Solar System, Holst brought forth imaginary visions of space that would survive many generations and decades after. As an important piece to the classical universe, ‘The Planets’ is regularly played throughout the World every year as it had been the most vivid translation of our cosmic neighborhood until now. The Electronic Music artist and producer Jeff Mills, pays tribute to this century of incredible musical production. He embarks to compose a sonic journey to re-discover our neighboring planets in a 18 piece suite that explores the nine planets, including the portions of space in between the Planets, the nine regions Mills calls Loop Transits.
Crossing Avenue – Malandra [SPAZIO007]
Next up on Spazio Disponibile is a pair of artists who played the party of the same name at Goa, Rome last year, Crossing Avenue. They present a four tracks EP. “Crucial” is first and is a big, warm open space filled with tiny little flecks of sound, delicate synth flashes and rolling rubber drums that truly hypnotise. “Malandra” is another bit of burrowing mind music that is hugely atmospheric yet notably sparse and economic in design. The drums roll below as watery droplets, ghostly pads and haunting organic hooks all roam and snake about in the mix. “Rimbalzo” is darker and more direct, with a supple techno groove forcing you to move as flashes of synth, alien life forms and subterranean ambiance all colour in the airwaves. Last of all, “No Coasts” traps you in another underground cave with only desolate drones and bulbous bass lines for company. It is eerie, but beautifully so, and rounds out another fascinatingly cinematic release.
30drop – The Time Of Cruel Miracles [30DLP001]
Since launching the project in 2014, Barcelona-based 30drop has been releasing on End of Dayz, Detroit Underground and of course the 30drop label which has also seen appearances by Der Zyklus, Population One, The Black Dog, Sterac and Trolley Route (Oscar Mulero). Now, the Spaniard announces his album “The Time of Cruel Miracles” which includes 12 original tracks and 4 remixes by Substance, Architectural, Rivet and Zero Mass (30drop + Geistform).
Jeroen Search – Clarity EP [DREF034]
The Clarity EP signifies the return of Dutch techno heavyweight Jeroen Search to Dynamic Reflection. The result is a powerful four track EP, that clearly demonstrates Jeroen’s unique and personal approach to contemporary techno; Skilfully build grooves fused together with funky stabs, form a unique, recognisable and inimitable “Search-blend”. Proving once more Jeroen Search is an undisputed master of true machine funk.

Aiken – Inertia [EVENT015]
Aiken’s much anticipated return to Chronicle. The Spanish artist has been spending years honing his craft, focusing on sharp, distinct sounds that create a pure sense of kinetic energy. The title track of the EP bolsters a erce disarray of carefully (de)constructed atonal synthwork and a rhythm section that is set to detonate. It is then followed by “Axial”, a track that stays as true to modular miscalculations as it does to stripped down techno, combining both in a subliminal cessation of sanity. However Aiken isn’t done there. He continues with “Magnetism”, which throws a brick in the glass of conventionality with its earth-shaking layers of textured momentum. Phased pads then wash over “Soul Drama”, bringing the entire experience to an emotionally laced denouement.
Claudio PRC – Volumi Dinamici [SEM087]
Volumi Dinamici is the second long player of Claudio PRC, a project that combines music and art inspired by the Futurist concepts of movement and dynamism and artistic currents such as Abstract Expressionism; the name itself is a tribute to a work of Italian artist and pioneer Luigi Russolo. Volumi Dinamici is a collection of 11 tracks accompanied by the same number of illustrations, different from each other but characterized by a common technical and compositional approach. The several shades of the atmospheres and the linear rhythm of the grooves come together to form a dense and mental musical dimension, a journey into the sounds and their intrinsic symbolic value. Depth, lights, shadows and noises are tangible elements of this work that mark the beginning of a new sound research based mainly on the instinctive use of machines and analogue instruments.
Tadeo – The Pit [TOKEN069]
Tadeo first released on Token in 2015 with the instant classic Terra Incognita, reminiscent of the kind of techno-futurism usually employed by some of the Detroit greats. If Terra Incognita was an interpretation of outer space, The Pit comes from deep in the ground. This is electronic programme music; bookended in distinctive Tadeo style with a modal string section that places the record firmly in the avant-garde, The Pit guides us through the moods and associations of a classic science fiction narrative. The record is consistent in its instrumental palette, with a subdued but powerful low-end to set the pace, disorienting semitone meanderings and organic percussion in the mid, and massive, crashing hats that lift statement sections beyond comprehension.
Echelon – Echelon 001 [ECHELON001]
Straight white label with no more info. New mysterious side project of one of the most innovative and known techno acts. The Echelon is conceived in total secrecy. Embedded deep in the contemporary landscape, its sole purpose is to function as an anonymous observer, translating its findings into music and movement. Looped minimal techno in the best Mills tradition.
Jeff Mills – A Trip To The Moon [AXCD049]
The album is newly recorded sound track of the “A Trip To The Moon” film by Georges Melies in 1902. The Lobster Films in France has released a DVD of the same film with Jeff Mills’ sound tracks in November 2016. The famous silent film is only for 16 minutes or so but Mills has finished the entire tracks for this sound track album.
