Dekmantel announce an exciting new project by the impeccable Robert Hood. Over the course of three different EPs and an album, the Detroit legend presents Paradygm Shift. Hood: ‘The idea behind Paradygm Shift is similar to a shift in our focus. We can become so complacent; we are so comfortable with our surroundings, I think this is the time for electronic music to find a new mindset.’
Architectural brings the release number 7 which continues a saga of EPs that are very effective on the dance floor without renouncing to their atmospheric and experimental roots. Presented in an elegant 10” transparent vinyl, its two tracks, 7.1 and 7.2, share the limelight and will both leave the dance floor in ruins.
30drop Records announce the fourth release of its project, under the same name. “History of Gods” is an EP that envelopes us in a rhythmic spiral, taking us straight to the dance floor of the space. Four amazing tracks: three originals and a remix by the historic technomaster Steve Rachmad, as Sterac. The festive opening vibration of “Transversal Sight”, the schizoid cosmic rhythm of “History Of Gods”, from the prism of 30drop or based on the vision of Sterac, and the galactic depth of “Complex Entropy” all define a solid work that takes us to the very depths of sacred geometry.
The second volume of Berlin institution Ostgut Ton’s ten year anniversary release. This particular volume features Berghain resident and label mainstay Marcel Dettmann offering us “Encode II”. Once again this is A grade techno by one of the modern greats. Regular guest at the club and Dial artist Efdemin serves up “Unten Links” a driving and adrenalised groove based around a nice arpeggio, rapid fire woodblocks and evil samples. New addition to the family Kobosil gives us “Saldae” a restrained yet furious stomper with doomy strings and sonar blips.
By Giallo Disco standards, Blood Meridian is something of a curveball. Produced by debutant Ketsueki Sakuru, it cleverly combines the label’s usual synthesizer horror influences with percussion programming that draws inspiration from the throbbing worlds of EBM and New Beat. It’s a blend that works wonderfully well, from the bubbling, rising synthesizer lines and hypnotic rhythms of “The Judge”, to the cacophonous, slo-mo throb of “The Necklace” (all tactile chords and ricocheting drum hits), via the dark pulse of smack-jacker “The Judge”. Arguably best of all, though, is “The Kid”, which sounds like a pitched-down hook-up between John Carpenter and Nitzer Ebb.
Two tracks one from each Rim & Kasa recent albums out in latter part of 2015 on BBE get the official edit treatment from Mukatsuku that have never been out before as official singles.

Magic Waves delivers the third and final installment in its series of EPs focusing on established artists working in disguise and encouraging the listener to put the “music first” ahead of names, trends or gimmicks. ‘Music First Vol 3’ opens in serious style with Fashionable Male’s epic EBM/New Beat stormer ‘Hardbody’; slow, deep and hard, building pressure to a crushing crescendo and guaranteed to drench any industrial basement dancefloor in litres of sweat. As if that wasn’t enough of an audiophysical workout we’re also treated on Side A to Deflektor1000’s ‘Krunch’, a punchy analogue technoid jam for the DJs that raves the bpm’s up to the next level in classic Detroit-Chicago style featuring whooshing strings, grinding bass and generally heavily elevating vibes. Flipping over to Side B things quickly get deeply hypnotic and very acidic indeed courtesy of Pagan Ritual’s squelching and jacking box-jam ‘Think Like Me’, another bomb no doubt destined to sit in many a DJ-bag for a long time. And closing things off we have an analogue Italo-Electro instrumental hard-rocker from Albert Ross in the shape of ‘Fly Away’, one that has been doing the rounds in the underground for some time and even popping up in the occasional I-f mix or two, finally available on wax but just as mysterious as ever.

Morphology are Finnish electro duo Matti Turunen and Michael Diekmann. Making a welcome return to CPU, a label where their Detroit influenced electro and stark dystopian melodies are very much at home.
Optimo’s prolific DJ/producer/label boss JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor has curated a compilation of early ‘80s synth, industrial and cold wave classics and undiscovered gems in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, titled So Low. The 16-track collection had its genesis in McIvor’s irregular club night of the same name in his hometown of Glasgow. “So Low is an occasional night at The Poetry Club in Glasgow where I play some of the music I played when I first started DJing back in 1987,” McIvor explains. “At that time the audience I played to mostly loathed what I was playing and rarely danced but then shortly after, when House music arrived I found a different audience who actually liked to dance. In response to my wife’s deep love of this music and requests from some friends who were too young to hear it in a club at the time, or indeed were not even born when most of this music was made, I was persuaded to revisit a lot of records I still loved but rarely played out, and So Low was born. It has an extremely enthusiastic audience, a joyous atmosphere and is the antithesis of what a club in Scotland playing this music nearly 30 years ago would have been like.”
Here at Giallo HQ we first noticed H ø R D whilst searching for tracks for the fictitious Wild In Blue Ost, and his music has gone on to be some of the best we’ve ever heard, so much so that we jumped at the chance to release the debut album by this incredible artist. Eight Reverb-Soaked Urban-Gothic Melancholic songs, between synth-shoegaze and violent EBM, Focus On Light is a beautiful heartbreaking LP that will resonate strongly with fans of Pornography-era The Cure, Joy Division and classic Nine Inch Nails.
Medical Records releases the first full length LP in 5 years by LA’s Geneva Jacuzzi. To say Jacuzzi is a multifaceted artist would be an understatement. She is well known for her uncompromisingly obtuse synth-driven pop and one-of-a-kind performance art that is comprised of one time only spectacles and installations. Her works have been presented in famous art institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA and numerous other venues across the globe. She has developed a very focused cult following in the art and music scenes. She was originally well known for her multitude of self-released home recordings but also released a full length Lamaze in 2010 on the Vinyl International to much acclaim. Not to mention her track The Sleep Room featured on The Minimal Wave Tapes Vol 2. Technophelia is the culmination of a hybrid of DIY and professional studio recordings (with the help of esteemed producer Chris Coady) that resulted in this exquisite album. Features the soon-to-be-hits I’m A TV and Cannibal Babies. Lovers of unique and left-field wave such as Gina X, Ronny, and the like will be transfixed by the raw, oozing newness of it all.
