Breathy, atmospheric and yet dynamic electronics on this debut LP byDesolate aka Sven Weisemann , celebrating Fauxpas Musik’s first anniversary. The dark but dynamic sounds of Burial and the spherical spacey atmosphere of Boards of Canada seem to be basic inspiration for Desolate. The album includes nine tracks in total ranging from deeper to more ambient compositions and as a bonus you get a CD version thrown in with two bonus tracks!

“The Incredible Adventures of Captain P” is Fred Peterkin’s third album to date, following two full-lengths under his pseudonym Black Jazz Consortium. Though loyal to his hypnotic deep house signature sound, this album breaks the mold a bit, throwing in ambient, left-field and even some hip-hop style beats.

Sepalcure presents their second EP featuring four brand new cuts, on Hotflush Recordings.. The “Fleur” EP shows a progression of Sepalcure’s depth of field, weaving distant chords, soulful vocals, and organic rhythms into vibrant, immersive soundscapes, with echoes of house, techno, and dubstep within.

”Cloaks of Perception” sees the light of day on Belgium’s Other Heights label. Excellent low-fi atmospheric soundscapes and dubby techno cuts as you might expect.

Free album for download on TFE Records. Warm deep duby sounds from Das Kraftfuttermischwerk.

Surface emerges from the murky depths with a new project / sub-division ‘Beneath the Surface’; a series of releases forthcoming sporadically over the next year or so, delving quite literally beneath the surface and showcasing some of the finest and deepest shades that techno and house has to offer with a select line up of old friends and some very special new faces….The first instalment ‘Journeys To The Deep Vol.1′ sees label head honcho Nick Dunton.

Onmutu Mechaniks is an alter ego of the prolific Arne Weinberg for Echocord. To date it’s given us two 12″s of loners techno soul, a vibe he expands and asserts with ‘Nocturne’. From the dub stasis of ‘Catatonic’ he guides us on an inward trajectory with the heavy breathing shuffle of ‘Aspiring To Aspire’ and continues an internal spiral with the soundtracky space of ‘Lupos Moon’, recalling the bleakness of Demdike Stare’s spare grooves. Down the line and the sleep-techno of ‘Neutrino’ only keeps consciousness because of its metronomic woodblock, before ‘When You Return’ inhabits the blue zones of Signer or Fluxion and ‘Across The Styx’ pulls the rhythmic anchor to drift in placid dub lagoon. With ‘Nocturne’ Arne proves he knows how to sooth and salve heads with elegance and substance, resulting in a sumptuous listen from start to finish.

Deep and dubby techno reworks from Manchester’s JS Zeiter, touching up a Berlin-inspired Detroit groove with effervescent chords.
