Chicago Skyway is back on MOS deep with another epic release, ranging from melodic deepness to wild-jackin’ dance floor-madness. The Lager EP kicks off with Bad Driver, a raw and solid Chicago-banger with an irresistible driving bass-line, rattling beats and atmospheric strings. For Lager Nord on the flipside Chicago Skyway teams up with his compadre Dcook, delivering an emotional and dreamy classical Detroit Techno influenced track. Lager is reworked by Steven Tang, another rising star in Chicago’s contemporary electronic-music scene, known for his Obsolete Technology imprint and his Verged Sessions on Aestatic Audio. Steven’s Obsolete Technology Remix focuses on lush orchestrated strings and deep synths flowing over a massive foundation of thumping beats.

Disco Nihilist with tracks between Chicago’s Jack urgency, Detroit’s funky machine soul and the raw magic of vintage drum machines. His style is natural, murky, filthy and raw to the core. The six track EP ”Running (Far Away)” for Running Back is an exercise in grinding beats, squelching acid lines, graceful pianos and heartfelt rhythms without any paralyzing retro romance.

Danny Wolfers’ latest offering the “Sark Island Acid” EP once again brings the listener into his shadowy world where the sounds of Chicago and Detroit meld with a demented dreamworld in which woodland creatures attempt space travel, lonely middle-aged men cast off by society perform circuit bending experiments in their parents suburban basement and autistic fans of late night talk radio call in from the outer-reaches to discuss world politics.

Ranging from melodic to a bit heavier work this Tevo album is an ideal little update to your house collection. Lots of Chicago and a well sized portion of acid in it.

The original theme track for Beautiful Granville Records in its original arrangement as a collectors piece. The track itself is to represent the essence of the beautiful place that is called downtown Granville, from its moody energy to the mode and pace of the people who make up this small neck of the woods in Chicago. As the track is titled Beautiful Granville, it is the original recording that sprung to mind and the very track that started the record label’s name, mood and energy.
