Examine – Essential Reconstruction EP [SNEJL017]

Examine delivers Snejl’s 17th number, as an authentic masterpiece for any music lover. ‘Random Facts’ represents a perfect example of sound research, massive groove and detroitish chords. ‘Essential Reconstruction’ gets that floating atmosphere a solid dub track can deliver. Subtle textures surrounded by an aura of warmth are somehow reconstructing the whole track from the beginning to the end. ‘Artificial Consciousness’ is a beautifully fresh, deep techy tune . Its warm sounds deliver the perfect touch of soul which is floating towards your ears and all your deepest senses.
Seuil – Moonpark [NK024]

New Kanada presents a collection of superbly deep and tight house tracks by Seuil. All three cuts here are made for the long mix; blending elements of classic house, deep techno and random dopeness into a very modern whole.
Giorgio Gigli & Obtane – Looking Through A Mindscape [ZLF00D]

Zooloft’s ‘Looking Through a Mindscape’ EP is a decidedly dark new cut from Giorgio Gigli and Obtane. A little more digital than Basic Channel or Echospace, the rhythms and soundscapes are much more poly-textured, metallic and foreboding; making for a dramatic listening experience whether at home or in the club.
Ion – Schutzhaft EP [LCL03]

Despite being club oriented with touches of dub techno and deep house, this EP attempts to reach a higher, more complex and edgy musical goal: 90% of it is made using audio samples and instruments collected through a lot of years and I tried to profit from all their imperfections and limitations.
Lucy – Kalachakra EP [PRG014]

Lucy, Stroboscopic Artefacts labelowner, and DVS1 debut on Prologue delivering finest pure deep techno floor fillers.
Luke Hess feat. Omar S – Michigan Central Station EP [ECHOCORDCOLOUR012]

Michigan Central Station built in 1913 for the Michigan Central Railroad, was Detroit, Michigan’s passenger rail depot from its opening in 1913 until the discontinuance of Amtrak service on January 6, 1988. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest rail station in the world. The building, located in the Corktown district of Detroit still stands today, though it remains unoccupied. Restoration projects and plans have gone as far as the negotiation process, but none have come to fruition. Spread throughout the city of Detroit and its surrounding metropolitan area, the decay of once magnificent buildings during the industrial revolution and automobile era now cast a shadow of despair on a once flourishing city. These monuments of achievement now lay barren and forsaken by city government. Infrastructural restoration and city development are fundamental elements in Detroit’s recovery, and the recovery of cities worldwide. It is time for revival in our cities, but first, in our souls. The Michigan Central Station EP is a platform for this change.

VA – The Dust Off Volume 3 [OKLTD004]

First up is ‘Sepia’, a collaboration between Matt O’Brien and Audiostatic, who deliver a low slung, head nodding, 120 bpm dubbed out house monster. Recorded over 8 years ago, this track has a timeless quality which makes it just as relevant today. Minor Planets kick off the B side with skeletal electro of ‘Constructor’ – heavy sub bass underpins a clanking beat while muted reverberated melodies bubble up to the surface. Rounding off this EP is ‘3dub’ by Kimble, a blissed out piece of ethereal lo-fi electronica.
VA – Field 04 [FIELD04]

Field Records will release in August their 4th release. Tracks from Ohrwert, Duplex and Delta Funktionen.
Pattern Repeat – Pattern Repeat 03 [PATTERNREPEAT03]
Conforce – FACT mix 168
MRSK – Black Keith / Close To Me [RH030]

‘Black Keith’ definitely has that drive and swing and groove we love so much. ‘Close To Me’ is a little deeper and more classy (Detroit), yet still grooves like a motherlicker.
Furreshu – Untitled [PSQ002]

Industrial stripped techno with some dubby berlin techno influences and straight on dubstep percusion.
Don Williams – Dynamic Rain [BAUD003]

Don Williams provides two deep and tricky Detroit jackers for Baud. ‘Dynamic Rain’ is lead by future-tribal tom patterns and sparse, abstract synthlines. The idiosyncratic ‘Glis Groove’ on the flip reminds of Redshape (who coincidentally mastered this 12″) with deep shuffling arrangement tinged with a sci-fi house vibe. Lovely heavy card sleeve and top class cut & mastering job.

Gale Talk – Icosaedro EP [IPO018]
Joaan – Splendor In The Grass [7EVEN015]

7even offer a well-deserved opening to Joaan, a talented newcomer from Nantes. ‘Splendor in the grass’ manages to build sheer beatdown vibes for gathering summer evenings, over a cannily deployed half-speed drum and bass.
Oliver Dodd – Balance Point [KST015]

Konstructure label boss is back with another deep exploration. “Blance Point” is a three track EP that looks deeper into his detroit influenced sound. From classic arrangements to dub techno that keep feet on the floor and heads in the air.
