Fallbeil – The Mockturtle [MMLPXX505]

Hambourg’s electro duo Fallbeil composed by Wosto and Kluentah, is still pretty unknown despite they’ve been releasing a bunch of EP and a couple of LP on label like Mannequin, Killekill sub-label Boidae or New York Haunted and more recently on their own label Teerpappe to name a few. Macadam Mambo presents now a compilation of irresistible dark atmospheres slow electro tunes with very raw textures, complemented by few little skits to generate a brilliant album around the story of the Mockturtle.
Mekine U Teksi – Steppenroboter versus Transeuropa [TFGC022]

Evocative and spooky contemporary prog. Meine U Teksi has absolutely nailed it to fetishist levels. It sounds like the synths were the only thing keeping the castle warm the night this was recorded. The whole record it’s made even more unnerving by the fact that the 4th track doesn’t exist.
Heinrich Dressel – Lambda 2077 EP [SLOMO049]

Roman artist Heinrich Dressel delivers a sparkling gaze into the future with the glistening ‘Lambda 2077’. Dressel cultivates a cinematic, cerebral experience throughout each track, delicately weaving a visceral soundscape. Growling arps and magnetic, synthesised moans flows throughout this record. Francisco opens things up with an electro-tinged, thunderous remix. Building upon the chordal gravitas of the original, the remix provides the release with an acidic percussive journey.

VA – 5 Years Of Hilltown Disco EP [HIL5YRS]

Hilltown Disco celebrate 5 years with a star-studded compilation of artists that have featured and helped shape the label over the past half decade. On the A-side of the vinyl we find w1b0, Wibo Lammerts who sadly passed away during the production of the record, and Ole Mic Odd, who offer crunchy, dark electronics, perfectly sewn together, producing two future classics, with their bass-heavy electro. Flip to the B-side and the record ups tempo, with the first track from Larionov & St. Theodore that showcases their slick, punchy electro productions, followed by a spiraling, hypnotic, machine-funk weapon by PRZ. The record finishes with Robyrt Hecht’s stripped-back electro track with classic Hecht, signature, captivating vocals.

Acid Freq. – Direct Out [DS004]

Chupacabras presents, on his label Draconian Steps, the final release of his alter ego Acid Freq. This includes 6 over driven analogue tracks to nowhere. These were the final recordings before leaving London for the Thanet Coast with the exception of the digital bonus “Thursday Night”. The recordings embrace feedback, distortion, overdrive and experimentation. Mindless repetition for mindless times.
Ma Spaventi – Tornerò EP [SLOMO051]

Ma Spaventi makes a slick return to Slow Motion Records with the captivating ‘Tornerò’. Vocoded vocals, inviting synth swells and sonic expertise. Descending arps trickle into ‘Tornerò’ from the get-go. Vocoded vocals flutter through the masterful mix, weaving into inviting synth swells. Defined drums are firmly felt across this record.
Das A&O – Les Hommes Boivent [RAT21]

Humans have to drink! They went down to the pond to quench their thirst. Sipping from the cool wet while being on all fours, they saw the reflection of their own faces for the first time. This must have been the beginning of the ongoing struggle of mankind dealing with self-consciousness. Anna and Ole (Das A&O) also met at the water point and much like the myth of the first human couple “Adam and Eve” they ate too much poisoned apples but instead of getting obsessed with one’s ego, they wrote some beautiful Synth Wave music together. Immortalized on a seven-inch piece of wax, the results are now available on Rat Life Records.

Member of the defunct Vltra Delta Drive, Espeletia sees the Colombian exile delivering a masterclass in Giallo-infused synthwave and electro.
