Armonics – Human [SLOMO028]

ARMONICS - Human

Another debut producer joins the ranks of Slow Motion with a distinctive take on some classic sounds. Armonics hails from Bari, deep in the Italian south and his first EP is at turns blissful, jacking and dare we say, playful. For a first EP, Armonics has certainly nailed his musical colours to the mast. Crossing with ease between disco, Balearic and an indefinable X-factor.

Francisco & Cosmo – Lineabeat Vol. 3 [SLOMO026]

Third time out for Francisco on Slow Motion’s strictly retro-dance-floor series – Linea Beat. Joined by partner in crime Cosmo, ‘System 3’ and ‘Get In’ are classic Slow Motion laser jams. Phasers set to stun and energy levels turned up to 11, the latest in the 12″ dance programme comes with a jacking bonus beat remix from Dephi of Tiger & Woods. Throbbing, electronic dance music for your mind, body, this is Italian dance music of the past, present and the future.

Lerosa – Il Nostro Tempo [SLOMO023]

LEROSA - Il Nostro Tempo

Lerosa makes his debut release on Slow Motion with ‘Il Nostro Tempo’. Lerosa has crafted four tracks of wistful, propulsive dance music. The trance inducing chug of ‘Il Nostro Tempo’ and the bittersweet synths of ‘La Monarca’ take up side-a, a pair of contemporary club cuts oozing with emotional melodies and stripped back rhythms. On side-b the the skittish rhythms and wobbly arpeggiator of ‘Ninfa’ take you through to the early hours. ‘Pompeo’, perhaps the most emotional of four nostalgically sad club jams works just as effectively tugging your heartstrings on the headphones early in the morning as it does in a smoky club late at night.

Francisco – Lineabeat Vol. 2 [SLOMO020]

Francisco returns to Slow Motion for the second in our of retro-dance-floor series; Linea Beat volume 2. Drum beats are rolling and lazers are scanning for a double a-side of vintage yet futuristic discoid funk. Relentless hand claps, ghostly Italo voices and killer bass lines that comes on like the B-52’s of your alternative-universe wet dream. This is the sound of a sweaty cellar at 2am on a Monday morning with a uniquely Italian twist.

Francisco – Notte Horror [SLOMO019]

FRANCISCO - Notte Horror

A special one sided release from Francisco who channels the spirit of John Carpenter and the mysterious ‘Zio Tibia/Uncle Ankle’ (Italians will know who this is!) directly into the dancefloor for a high octane trip through space and time. This is the third release in Slow Motion’s acclaimed soundtrack series.

MOTORCYCLE BOY - Squalo

A taster of what we have been waiting for a long time; four tracks from Motorcycle Boy’s upcoming album – Squalo. Mutant house and dischord disco sit alongside girl freindly drum workouts and emo disco. Its disco, but not as we know it.

Francisco – Lineabeat [SLOMO015]

Linea Beat is Slow Motion’s latest offshoot, focusing strictly on the whacked out sounds of mid-eighties electronic disco. Long term label partner Francisco has turned his drum machines up to 11 and set lazers stun on this jacking disco 12”. Side A sees Cosmo joining the fun bringing along with him the ghost of cult Italo favourites Fun Fun for a throbbing excursion into sunrise elettro. Hands will be in the air for this one for sure. On the flip side things are sleazy, breezy and pulsating with the swagger of Rimini in 1986

Ma Spaventi – Cinema [SLOMO014]

SPAVENTI, Ma - Cinema

Hot on the heels of the last release from Francisco in Slow Motions’s new soundtrack series comes this stunning four track release from Marco Antonio Spaventi. While recalling influences as diverse as Jan Hammer, John Carpenter, Goblin, Giorgio Moroder, Daniele Patucchi, the De Angelis brothers and many other legendary (mainly Italian) composers from the soundtrack side, these tracks are just as comfortable on the electronic dancefloor and provide a dancing experience every bit as engaging as a listening one. Synth-heads, soundtrack afficonados, space-freaks and dance fiends are all set to enjoy this one in equal measure.

Francisco – Disco Wizard [SLOMO007]

FRANCISCO - Disco Wizard (Limited Series Vol 1)

A shiny picture disco for Slow Motion Records release number 7 – Disco Wizard by Francisco from Jolly Music. Beamed from distant satellites via 1983 and picked up by a crack team of Berlin based Italian disco commandoes, the Disco Wizard brings to mind Space, the tougher end of pre-84 Italo, guys with beards and grace Jones and Amanda Leat dancing the night away. A nagging baseline propels the track forward with alternating male and female vocals that coo and tease’. On the flip side the dub mix strips away most of the vocals and injects some serious strut into the beats. The rougher, tougher cousin of the original to send the boys and girls wild with cosmic desire.
