Alleviated Records is proud to present the latest ep release from THE IT. Produced by Larry Heard (a.k.a. Mr. Fingers, Loosefingers, etc.) and featuring the unique vocal poetry stylings of Harry Dennis, whom fans will also know from his releases under the moniker of ”Jungle Wonz.” We hope that djs, dancers and listeners will enjoy this set of 4 selections with music composed by Larry.
The increasingly impressive Lobster Theremin label seems to be developing close ties to Hungary’s emerging electronic music scene. Having previously released a superb EP from Budapest-based Imre Kiss, they’ve now turned to one of the country’s more established names, S. Olbricht (an alias of producer Martin Mikolai). There’s much to admire on this intoxicating four-tracker, from the alien electonics and hustling drums of leftfield techno opener “Fi”, to the crackling, off-kilter rhythms and ghostly chords of “RPSTS”. Elsewhere, Mikolai demonstrates his deep house nous on the warming “IIX1”, and fuses twinkling melodies, creepy chords and a throbbing low-end groove on the similarly impressive “Veuns”.
Beau Wanzer delivers a 12 track LP of archival material culled from tapes stored away from years past, the tracks in question being plucked between 2002-2008. Wanzer has stuck to his grotesque guns over the years, keeping his music personal, grating, and down right bizarre. Each track takes a narrative of its own, from the languidly vocaled, yet uncannily catchy ”Mob Boss” to the possessed murmurs of ”Love Tone,” Wanzer has created a completely unique collection of music which engages the listener all the way through.
California-raised Johannes Auvinen made his name blending hypnotic techno with the distinctive electronics of acid house. His most recent album, 2012’s Neo Neo Acid, moved further towards the sounds of Phuture. Ode, his seventh full-length, sits somewhere in between, delivering a sequence of deep, hypnotic grooves that utilise acid lines not to create energy, but as melodic hooks. With the addition of his own half-whispered vocals on a number of cuts, the result is an atmospheric set that feels like the soundtrack to a hazy after party. For the most part, it’s very impressive, and has a genuinely weary, late night mood that’s strangely attractive.

Another Intelligence, is a label with new tools for creative dj´s and Techno artists. M Plant’s 20 Year anniversary celebrations are set to end on a high with a triple CD compilation featuring a wealth of new, remastered and unreleased material alongside some classics from the Robert Hood canon. Before then, the latest in an ongoing series of celebratory 12″ releases sees Hood look to the classic Protein Valve, which was the first 12″ issued on M Plant back in 1994. The title track has already been subject to some edits as part of this M Plant 20 series, but it’s nice to see three tracks from that original 12″ reissued here as a reminder how Hood’s pioneering minimal approach first took shape.

Isolated process is a robotic monotonic thought deep down the furthest abyss. Belling drums alongside drones and solid grey basslines appears on first Function and Second Function: two different points of view, two moments about the same hypnotic march. Milton Bradley’s remix is a slower exploration of what remains alive underneath the space. Slow and cyclical beats hits back the mind once lost in the ocean. Pure machine darkness.

Axis Records present the 8th chapter of Jeff Mills Sleeper Wakes series. After the previous release of the exotic expedition to The Jungle Planet, his continuing science fiction story makes a significant turn to a Parallel Universe.
The latest Sound Transmission from Stephan Laubner under his STL project alias comes in shape of a 12 inch vinyl for likeminded people who are interested in the d-i-y sound research of the Something records audio sense facility.
Dan Physics came up in the ranks of the early 90s Midwest & NYC dance underground, when record shops still existed and the club scene was still diverse and vibrant. Working at Sonic Groove Records alongside Adam-X and Frankie Bones, through the years Dan had gained an encyclopedic knowledge of house, techno, industrial music and many genres in between. What we have here is a document from his past recording archives which demonstrates his studio expertise and is an impressive take of high bpm, yet melodic techno.
Four tracks out of the Spanish techno scene here – comes with contributions by the likes of Architectural, UnCUT, Eduardo De La Calle and The Transhumans.
Danish NORD Records presents NORD006, an EP made by Arkadelphia from Tennessee, United States of America. The EP contains four warm sounding tracks that goes very deep.
Rich sounding dark techno from this swedisch duo delivering their second album. Despite their impenetrable name and previous releases, SHXCXCHCXSH’s second album is strangely accessible. It seems that the Swedish duo has learnt the value of subtlety, but without losing their edge. From the eerie ambience of “Entering The S-Cloud” through the distorted, noisy electro of “Elo-cution”, the atmospheric techno sounds of “The Roots” and the snapping percussion and repetitive machine riffs of “Drain the Lord”, Linear S Decoded is one of 2014’s best techno albums.
BNJMN steps up to make his debut on Delsin with six tracks of experimental and inventive noise and techno. ‘Coil’ opens his account with screechy, unnerving synths squeals, imposing and throbbing pads and super deep kick drums that come at you from miles below. It’s a hugely textured and spine tingling affair before the ambiance of ‘Berth’ comes rippled with glassy and alien little melodies. ‘Merge’ has turbo charged drums hiding beneath more unsettled synth based noise that sound sernee at the same time as being paranoid. On the flip, ‘And Suddenly’ makes your hairs stand on end with is gothic celestial glow and slithering synth patterns, ‘Blown’ is a damaged and degraded bit of icy, thumping and reverb heavy techno and ‘Azure’ ends on a brain soothing, chilled out ambient high. These are the sort of truly unique and magically textured tracks you would expect from a producer like BNJMN, and mark a fine debut on Delsin.
Mixing opposites is always an interesting project, and that brings us to the present release from Kontra-Musik. On the one hand, we have Swedish National Treasure Andreas Tilliander and his already classic TM404-album. On the other hand we have Svreca, the dark prince of Semantica Records and the heir to Oscar Mulero. We thought it would be most interesting to blend these clearly diverse elements together. We where right. There is a very clear and constant division through the entire release. On one hand you have the warm, fuzzy analogue dubbiness of TM404, on the other hand you have the focused, trimmed and piercing techno from Svreca. Where TM404 brings out beams of acid sunlight from his silver boxes, Svreca conjures up a starless night with his relentless beats. It’s a bit like Saruman was given the permission to remix a Gandalf record. TM404 + Svreca. A piece of modern Alchemy, brought to you by Kontra-Musik.
Sound Theory is a brand new label from Exchange Place DJ/producer Nicuri. Here, he handles B-side duties, with pal Joey Anderson stretching out on the A. Given the standard of his debut LP, it’s little surprise to see Anderson impressing here, with the deep acid of “My Cassetts” providing a pungent blend of undulating 303 lines, sparse pads, occasional starburst electronics and cymbal-driven percussion. Nicuri toughens things up on the flip, dropping a pair of tracks that revolve around heavily compressed drums, hustling rhythms and vintage techno electronics.
Tasteful Nudes welcomes prolific French producer Anaxander to the fold for our sixth release, An Orderly Life. At turns dark and thumping, melodic and melancholic, and hypnotically whirling, each track finds Anaxander expanding on American dance music influences to create something wholly his own.
