Alessandro Adriani – Enter The Fire [SA031]

Alessandro Adriani’s debut EP for the Stroboscopic Artefacts label, Enter the Fire, is the first evidence of a new mutation in the Stroboscopic DNA, as can be seen by a shift in Ignazio Mortellaro’s design work for the label.

Mannequin announces 10-year compilation for 100th release

The modern synthwave scene would be significantly poorer without the keen ear and tireless efforts of the Mannequin label run by Alessandro Adriani.  Adriani says it best when claiming that “there is no such thing as ‘old’ or ‘new’ music…only the music of now”. With this cogent statement of intent, Mannequin continues to go on exploratory missions to find the best and most relevant aspects of genres like acid, industrial, EBM, post-punk, coldwave and still more.

Mannequin announces its 10 year anniversary with a compilation of tracks from the labels closest friends for its 100th release, called Waves Of The Future.

Alessandro Adriani – Fall Elsewhere and Shatter [PBD007]

Alessandro Adriani weaves a nightmarish scenario as the Mannequin man returns to Pinkman’s Broken Dreams with four hardened works. Beats are shaven into rigid points as EBM echoes are speared with contemporary contempt. Throughout the quartet are moments of exotic abstraction, psychological stresses and visceral disorders. Music for sleepless nights and addled minds.

Plath – Plath [MNQ088]

Originally self-released as a 7” in 1982, Plath release is definitely one of the obscure gems of the Italian underground. Plath were a duo from Prato, formed in 1982 by Silvia Innocenti (voice, bass guitar) and Fabrizio Lucarini (synth, drum machine). Plath were influenced by Throbbing Gristle and early Cabaret Voltaire works, moving in between two essential thematic actions: first, the constant search of a sound which aims to reflect the current reality as they were interpretating it and, second, the constant exposure of their anarchist ideological thinking against the established political and social system.

Alessandro Adriani – Guerilla Warfare [PBD002]

Mannequin Records’ Alessandro Adriani is up next for Pinkman’s White Label series and the flavor is unapologetically wave. Melodies ghost, whisper and finally roar as the Italian pushes the parameters of darkened electronics. Croaking samples and brutish percussion coiling to a bitter end.

DJ Bert & Eagle – Import [MMI001]

‘DJ Bert & Eagle – Import’ came out of the blue and disappeared right back into the depths of the universe. Originally composed to hit the Top 50 charts, it completely failed to do so – luckily! With this 12 inch Maxi single release the vocal drum edit of spAceLex will finally see the light of day and be available for your personal DJ experience. Remixed by Alessandro Adriani, the additional dub remix has an Industrial, Wave-like touch to it and invites to a seven minutes mind-bending trip.

VA – Der Zeltweg – Italian Tapes Industrial Music 1982-1984 Volume 2 [MNQ081]

Second volume of ‘Der Zeltweg – Italian Tapes Industrial Music 1982-1984’, the legendary Musumeci’s tape label existed for some few years in the early 80’s. Edition of 500 copies on 160 gram black vinyl. Coloured Vinyl. While the A-side is filling all the music produced by some of their side projects (Errata-S-Corrige, Gasdehyde and Herpes-Z) that we already introduced in the first volume, plus an unreleased Musumeci very early studio track ‘Apologia/Musumeci’, the B-side is presenting for the first time the full reissue of ‘The Psychophatic Blossom – Il Fantasma della Libertà’ tape (Der Zeltweg 002), an unexpected guitar-bass-noises experimental album, permeated by philosophical declamations in Italian language and short pulsating rhythmic compositions.

Alessandro Adriani – Montagne Trasparenti [MF111LP]

Alessandro Adriani has become a trusted source for all kinds of beyond-the-grave coldwave delights, from Maoupa Mazzochetti to The Neon Judgement. Aside from his work in releasing forgotten gems and up to the minute synth incantations, Adriani has also been quietly issuing out his own music as well. Primarily this has taken the shape of Newclear Waves, having surfaced on split tapes and 7″s on Mannequin as well as an album on Desire back in 2012. Under his own name, production has been less forthcoming, although Adriani did pop up on Nico Fidenco’s 2015 album Zombi Holocaust with a remix of the track “The Magic Is In The Process”. Now though it’s time for the Mannequin boss to delve back into the long player game with Montagne Trasparenti, which is scheduled to land on Monofonus Press in late March. Adriani in fact collaborated with Willie Burns as Interbrain and delivered a track to the IXTAB compilation on the Austin, Texas-based label last year, but now he returns with nine tracks that further expand on his own interpretation of ghoulish body music. According to the label, the album was recorded between Adriani’s native Rome and adopted Berlin, “in various years of travelling, composing, fighting with cables and machines.”

Adriani & Ventura / State Of Art – Changing / Venice (Remix) [BAP060]

Two generations of Italian music history come together on this split 7inch. Milan meets Rome, Fred Ventura meets Alessandro Adriani. For this occasion Adriani and Ventura covered the 1982 evergreen ‘Changing’ by Bill Bruce. The perfect combination to pay homage to this monumental piece of music. On the flip side Fred’s early 80’s new wave band State Of Art got the remix treatment by Alessandro’s moniker Newclear Waves. Another unique match of these two key figures preserving the 80’s underground sound of Italy.
