Martyn – Left Hander / Shook Up [3024-010]

3024’s milestone 10th release arrives with 2 brand new Martyn tracks. ‘Lefthander’ clatters in on heavily filtered drums, flickering high hats & garbled radio transmissions before a carousel synth melody breaks through the percussive murk accompanied by a roaming bass line that prioritises restraint over bludgeon. Steam age industrial monolith ‘Shook Up’ swaps slink for haunted metronomic brutality, snapping quickly into focus first with relentless kicks before bass akin to an Atari2600 playing Berghain looms over the clouded horizon.

VA – The New Recruits EP [SAR103]

Quality extended player from Smooth Agent Records featuring dope cuts from the Nebraska who brings the super sick “Green Marimba” that’s as much house as it is dirty tech, James “Black Star” John’s “Techers Untitled”, & South Africa’s Blaq Soul who finishes the 12″ with “Down To My Root”.

Probably you already found out that we are preparing for the 1 year celebration and our special guest is Mick Wills [Nation, Minimal Rome, Gigolo Records – Stuttgart, DE]. This will be his second visit to Sibiu (after 5 years) and his first in Cluj-Napoca. Many words can be said about the man who started his djing career almost 25 years ago and has released his first EP back in 2001, on International Deejay Gigolo Records, but we leave the words to the only three Romanians with releases on Gigolo. Instead, we present an exclusive dj mix from Mick recorded live in Jena, Germany, on July 24th this year.

Enjoy and “Dance like nobody is watching”.
