TNT – Analogue Acid Project 3 [RBTNT001]

Third time is a charm. The Analogue Acid Project by Todd Osborn and Tadd Mullinix resulted in two records in 2005 and 2006 that excelled at the fabrication of gritty acid jak tracks ow, Todd N Tadd alias TNT aka the dynamite duo finally returns. Their third outing and first one on Running Back, is a detonative reunion of old and new friends. With two previously unreleased beat tracks on one side plus carefully tailored reissues of Hotness (from the blue record) and Beat This House (from the red record), you get a box of dynamite sticks in various sizes for different situations. More than ten years later and still as explosive.

Andreas Gehm – The Worst Of Gehm [SOM041]

“Solar One Music is proud to announce this special record. Andreas left us suddenly at June 20th in 2016 after long health problems. Around that time we finished with him “The Worst Of Gehm” release. He was so happy about this project!!! Even one week later we got the terrible message that he died. We put alot of love and effort in this project to give him his last big monument! Special thanks to all his friends and labels like Mathematics Recordings, Abstract Acid, Creme Organization, Psycho Thrill and of course Bunker. RIP in Andreas! We will never forget you!”

Leonid & Laak – Yesterday For Tomorrow [SLPVNL006]

The sixth vinyl missive from Soul Print Recordings is a double-header featuring two tracks apiece from Leonid and Laak. The former handles the A-side, laying down two deliciously intergalactic chunks of spacey deep house. On “Urania 1”, he wraps psychedelic acid lines, supernova chords and Motor City melodies around a snappy drum machine groove, before working the acid lines further on the deep and hypnotic “Urania 2”. Laak takes over on the flip, peppering a bouncy, off-kilter drum machine groove with cyclical melody loops and undulating acid lines on “Sp”. “Waiting For Tomorrow” is arguably even better, with the fast-rising producer wrapping a tactile, synth-bass heavy backing track with fluttering electronics and sunrise melodies.

Technology Liberation Front – Borrowed Fogs [MW012]

Acid is the name of the game on Magic Waves’s twelfth release, an undercover excursion from one of the UK’s most eminent masters of the genre. ‘Borrowed Fogs’ on Side A is a 303-driven odyssey into dark and rapturous realms of analogue jamming, taking the listeners and dancers on a far-reaching flight to tweaking peaks on the far side of their minds before Side B bumps us back down to Earth with two hard, slamming, raw, sweaty, dusty and downright dirty basement-shakers in the shape of ‘Empty Warehouse’ and ‘R.T.F.M.’

Jared Wilson – Midnight On Ecorse Creek [SRTX016]

WILSON, Jared - Midnight On Ecorse Creek

Super Rhythm Trax release their first record of 2017 and it’s a return for Jared Wilson who steps up with four tracks of Deep Acidic House music. These tracks burrow away and are certified ear-worms from the opening ‘Getting That Feeling’ with it’s warm bassline complimented by lush pads and on the other end of the scale, the sparse menace of ‘It’s The Message’, it’s another great EP from the Detroit Acid don.

Andrew Red Hand – Dear Goddess [MOSDEEP028]

ANDREW RED HAND - Dear Goddess

A year after his last outing on the label, Andrew Red Hand is back on MOS Deep with another fine four track offering. ‘Lonely Heart’ opens things up in spritely fashion, with frazzled synths circling round a rooted rubbery groove. The lines grown more wild and untethered as things roll on an it is sure to carry floors away to another dimension. ‘Sleepless Nights’ is another busy cut, with gurgling acid wrestling with more serene and soulful synth smears. Bristling and brimming with energy, it’s a fluid bit of techno that is as classic as it is fresh. ‘Dry Tears’ is another fulsome arrangement, with light and shiny synths, gritty bas notes and airy hi hats all jostling for your attention and last of all, ‘Moms Spirit’ soars off to the horizon on a smooth house tip, with rueful pads, sweeping strings and elastic bass really getting you on your toes. These are clean, crisp, accomplished tracks that cannot fail to make their mark.

Mystic Bill – The Lost Casette Trax Vol.1 [COTF012]

Chicago house legend Mystic Bill joins Crimes Of The Future with two straight up jacking house tracks with bonus instrumental and a mind bending remix by Scott Fraser. The A cut Frequency 9 is a rolling jacker with rattling percussion and dark synth stabs to dement the warehouse dancefloor and very much in the line of Bill’s trademark style. A2 see’s Fraser return the remix favour delivering a massive floor bumping remix adding all new drums, 303 and huge bassline giving a nod to the classic sound of those Sex Trax/ Power Music 12’s from the 1990’s with his 11 minute mind control remix…. The frequency cannot be controlled! Side B has both the original and a bonus intrumental of The Ship Is Sinking, a dark slice of jacking house complete with real tension and total mastery of the sampler for those able to spot it.

Face Of Drums – Let Go & Release Yourself [MATH097]

Jamal Moss and Steve Poindexter return with 3 tracks of straight bugged-out freakness and manic drum mechanics. ‘The Inbearable Tension’ on the A side is a tweaked-out acid stomper, while ‘The Release’ and the title track back off slightly…but not much!

Chicago Basement Trax flexes its muscles and enlisted the services of one Chicago’s Crown jewels of the Underground in the form of one Mr. Jordan Fields. Credit 00 – So High EP [CHIWAX024]

CREDIT 00 - So High EP

Rawax welcomes Alexander Dorn aka Credit 00 to the Rawax Family. Back in the days at the west-Saxon highlands there was a missile, which marked the starting point. When Credit 00 saw the legendary rocket rise on Tetris’ final screen, it was the first time he became aware of electronic music at all. Since then it actually hasn’t changed that much. He keeps pushing that buttons that belong to the impressive pool of music machines towered up next to his bed. Jacking box/club tracks by the bad boy from Dresden.

Tristan Grace – The Furse EP [IWBN001]

I Walked by Night presents its debut release from the UK based artist Tristan Grace. Inspiration from the motor city and acid sound lies at the heart of what he does. Influenced by rolling green hills, and surrounded by the analog soul of his machines – he has an addiction to vintage machines of Asian origin, valves, and it’s fair to say, he lives his life in 16 step sequence. The Furse E.P moves across the width of his sound, and this being his debut release on I Walked by Night.
