Dutch producer and live act Conforce is back with ‘Autonomous’, a fifth artist album and the latest in his long relationship with Delsin Records. Conforce is Boris Bunnik, a producer who explores the deepest realms of dub, house, techno and electro under many different names. His Conforce alias is where his most club orientated material comes from and this new nine track album finds the Transcendent label boss producing dark syntheses inspired by his hometown and harbour city, Rotterdam, and its automated industries. Thule are on an unstoppable roll at the moment, both mining the archive and doing a great service to the next generation of techno producers in Iceland. The deep, dubby headspace most readily associated with the label continues in abundance with the emergence of Waage, who under the tutelage of Thule old guard Exos has taken to production like a natural. There’s a supremely reduced air about “W1”, but the rubbery bassline simply can’t be argued with. The dub techno tropes are out in full force on “W2” though, with some sumptuous chords that come on like cracking ice. “W3” then pushes even further out into that heady space where minor key chords can never have enough reverb before the sinister, simmering creep of “W4”.

Delsin is to put out an eight track compilation for the tenth release on its Cameron series, taking in stronghold names as Claro Intelecto and Vril, as well as former contributors to the series Shlømo, Artefakt and Gunnar Haslam. As has been the mission for the series before, there’s eye for new talent too – in the names of recent Delsin newcomer Sentomea, The Invariants and Cameron. All contributors look beyond the dance floor to offer a mixture of moody and atmospheric sounds, and everyone was given free rein, which has resulted in a collection that covers so much stylistic ground.

Delsin’s next trick is a debut double 12″ from Sentomea, an Amsterdam native, real name Sander Schuurman, you might not have heard of but a real synth freak. Exclusively producing his music in hardware-based live takes, and that gives rise to perfectly imperfect stuff that feels visceral and alive. Often making music with a visual connection, this EP is full of versatile 909 beats and fizzing electronic textures. ‘Relative Solace’ is up first and is a frosty house trip with bell textures and melancholic strings sounding all celestial and heavenly. ‘Wander’ is all about a sludgy 909 groove being lit up with bright strings and icy hi hat ringlets as dissonant pads stretch and skew all about the arrangement then ‘Fortitude Boogie’ has classic Detroit pads, a lovely broken rhythm and a funkateer bassline that makes the whole cut dance and emotional dance. ‘Fluid’ is more stripped back and clean, with rubbery 909 drums plodding below watery, gurgling synth sounds up top and this most expressive and textural EP closes with the experimental FM synthesis that is ‘Matter’ with its raw, off beat grooves and glassy surfaces, and finally ‘Reminiscent,’ a horizontal, star gazing cut that encourages you to lay back and day dream in the grass.

Cosmin TRG’s Fizic is proud to present its first 2017 release, from an exciting new name. Șerb is born and raised in Craiova, Romania, where he spent his youth playing guitar in Nihilistic, a local punk band. In 2014 he released his debut 12 on Transient Recs. His sophomore record is a prime example of his unique, cerebral take on dance music. “Qui Vive” is a somber, syncopated elegy of rugged elegance, with fizzy drums and percution filtering in and out over the fragile melody. “Feet Locked” is analog honey poured into your post-rave ear. After-glow synths follow an expertly modulated bass. Finally, “Persistent Prick” echoes the esotheric explorations of Actress, with added twisted funk. The talented Italian producers Pietro Caprioglio aka Autre and Federico Pedron aka Xinner kicking it off with “Nebula”. An emotional piece of late night techno music full of analog warmth and heart warming depth. Autre´s “Seiryu” is an athmospheric and loopy groove monster for the deeper dancefloors.
Dresden´s Kryptic Universe delivers with “01309 Stairways” one of those georgeous and simply perfect analogue sounding dub techno tracks. Incredibly textured piece of work wich could have been already a classic since the golden basic channel / chain reaction years. Owen Jay and Brian James closing it up with “Chordless”, a mind blowing take of chord driven club material.
