Legowelt / Willie Burns – Angels Against Dust [BTS001]

Beyond The Speaker is a new label launched by three American individuals with hands in graphic design, DJing and presenting radio shows. These mediums are put to expert usage on the label’s first release, Angels Against Dust, which pairs up two of electronic music’s singular personalities in Legowelt and Willie Burns. Each side sees one production from each producer with Legowelt’s penchant for woozy melodic hooks, rippling percussion and aqautic techno complemented well by Burns’ more meditative, hypnosis inducing arrangements.

Delroy Edwards ‎– White Owl [LIES024]

https://i0.wp.com/imagescdn.juno.co.uk/300/CS484805-01A-MED.jpg

Straight and to the point high bpm club ready tracks from the world of Delroy Edwards. No one is left standing with the clap, whistle, and warble of this ghetto funk. Rough and tough beat tracks made for mixing and getting the fuck out, just like in the old days. Nothing flashy here, hard working tracks for the working dj.

Mobach – Cold Rain [SD030]

Mobach drops his lush melodic debut album ”Cold Rain” on Syncom Data Records. Four years after his ”Metrobots” twelve inch Mobach delves deeper into his unique hybrid form of techno, house, electro, dub and downbeat experimental electronics. Ten tracks full of infectious melodies, clever beats and weird soundscaping that creates this typical Mobach audiosyncratic world, probably best reflected in the beautiful artwork, also from the hand of the artist.

Mark Du Mosch – Midnight Run [TAPE003]

“In the autumn of 2009, a chance encounter at an underground party in the city of Leiden (NL) offered us a very first glimpse of the astonishing and talented DJ that is Mark Du Mosch. On numerous occasions ever since, Mark surprised us with his adventurous trackselection, his raw and energetic mixing technique and the way he constantly pushes himself to cross the borders of genres while always maintaining his trademark style. It’s fair to say that no other DJ has left such an overwhelming impression on us as Mark did. Whether or not Du Mosch is as good a producer as he is a DJ is for you to decide. But on this double pack he sure demonstrates the same.” Tape Records

Bicep – Vision Of Love (Carl Craig Edits) [KMS120]

BICEP - Vision Of Love

It’s a rare thing for two labels to come together to release a track, but KMS Records and Feel My Bicep have done exactly that. “Vision Of Love” was produced by two London based, Belfast-born blogger-production-DJ duo, Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson. No remixes have been commissioned on “Vision Of Love”, but KMS is very lucky and very happy to announce that none other than Carl Craig himself, has graciously submitted a ‘c2 Edit’ and a ‘c2 Bonus Edit’, to make this a very special release indeed.

Hailing from the bairros of Lisbon, the Portugese duo Sabre take the helm of Tasteful Nudes’ second single. The young pair follow up an EP for W.T. Records by expressing adoration for German proto-techno on a majestic scale across a sub-tropical backdrop. “Bali” comes on like a strong cup of psychedelic tea, leaping from a tapestry of gamelan plucks to gigantic, growling bass lines and prismatic synth arpeggios. “Going” channels Manuel Gˆttsching’s hypnotic synth lines with the dance floor in mind, rubbing shoulders with a gregarious 303 bass line.

Two sample laiden ‘edits/ not edits’ here courtesy of O F F M S G. Hott – Works Karen Young’s classic ‘Hot For You’ vocal to fantastic effect. It comes off sounding like half vintage Master C+J, half early Permanent Vacation 12”. Theme – The result of a Todd Terry and John Talabot jam session. All bouncing house organs and stripped back beat, with a smattering of female new yorkiyan vocal reassuring us…“Gonna be alright…”

The Gemini Bros – Twin Flavour Remix EP [BB008]

Bucharest’s Gemini Bros are all about classic funk sounds, and here they’ve enlisted a host of pals to help inject plenty of it into their own tune. “Twin Flavour” is a up-tempo belter, with an incessant rubber bassline and piano/organ riffs. The normally electro-heavy Ursula 1000 delivers an ace, but surprisingly discofied version, Stereo 77 go for trippy bongo acid and finally Pips & Midi Kobain beef up the original, adding plenty of brass and wah-wah guitar in the process.
