Mark du Mosch – Salmiak [SD020]
Astonishing album by Mark du Mosch, who delivers his first full length album on Syncom Data Records and it’s quite simply overwhelming. In a true Detroit fashion Mark du Mosch rides that fine line between techno, house and disco. That line which guides you to the dancefloor as well as a higher musical and emotional level. With ”Salmiak” Mark du Mosch shows he’s not only a great DJ, but one of Hollands finest producers as well.
Neil Landstrumm – Night Train EP [KILLEKILL006]
With catalog number 006 another techno legend joins the Killekill family. Neil Landstrumm has delivered a handful of tracks which combine his typical dirty techno sound with the aesthetics of UK Bass. Extremely funky and with a big drop of acid they cross over electro, techno and even hip hop and therewith fit perfectly to the sound of our label. The co-production of weirdo mastermind Si Begg on ”Touch it” just adds the icing on the cake.

A wonderful project new/old by Detroit Techno Legend Anthony Shakir on Kyle Hall’s label, featuring remastered tracks from the rare Shake out of print 12inch ”M3 Sessions” originally released by the, now defunct, legendary Detroit record shop ”Record Time’. Fortunately Wild Oats Label head Kyle Hall, and Detroit Legend Shake have now gotten together for the new full release of the record which also contains unreleased material from that very same DAT Tape. On the 7inch there are 2 secret little Locked Grooves ”GJ LKD” and ”FRCTBEAT 6LKD” making for both a fun and Functional DJ tool.
Planetary Assault Systems – Remixes: Silent Servant & The Black Dog [OSTGUTTON053]
Ostgut Ton presents two remixes for PAS. Silent Servant transforms Bell Blocker to a slow burning hypnotic techno ride. For their remix The Black Dog combines their brooding melodics and dancefloor oriented production skills to create the perfect counterpart to the flipside of this 12”, somewhere between plain scary and profoundly deep.

Conforce – 24 EP [CBS012]
After Conforce’s tight album release on Delsin and other concept projects he did he/we went wild with this one and selected some tracks we just want to play out loud in a club from vinyl (incl. a killer remix by Gesloten Cirkel for the title track). At first sight these tracks dont have much in common… and probably still not for the second listen, but we didnt really bother for this one. It will be a standard in our dj box for the coming months with 4 tracks that all have a bit of a different groove and a different mood. Grain, Be There At Night, 24 and 24 remixed by Gesloten Cirkel. This is probably as versatile as a Clone Basement release can get.

Modularz label head Developer launches a special project currently limited to only vinyl on limited pressings. The ”Developer Archive” sheds more light on re-invention of American Techno in its purest form.
Madteo – Bugler Gold Pt. 1 [HINF8672]
Coming from Workshop associate Madteo, the first release from Joy Orbison and Will Bankhead’s Hinge Finger doesn’t disappoint. Aesthetically, the grainy, Bankhead designed sleeve is typically beautiful, whilst sonically has all the appeal of the aforementioned German imprint, oozing the foggy atmosphere of Amber-era Autechre, filtered through the lens of Detroit beatdown.. On “Bugler Gold” for instance, a languorous bassline drips between a barely-there kickdrum; it couldn’t be more different than “(Biz R Us (Whore Powers Resolution)” which follows it, a clunking rhythmic machine that maintains a thunderous forward momentum despite its sharper edges being coated in a soporific blanket of Chloroformed cotton wool. The B-Side delivers a further surprise in the library music inspired oddity of “Scream Seq”. “Xtra Loose Change (2010 refix)” meanwhile, is the sort of relentlessly deep house that is held together with little more than rhythm and pure atmosphere, each percussive micro-element perfectly balanced with a bass which is almost beyond the limit of human hearing.

Kansas native 785 debuts with his first 12″ ever on Jerome Sydenham’s Apotek records. It is clear this evasive sound engineer has a special gift to craft Techno from sources.
Mark Forshaw – 360 Vision EP [CH010]
Mark Forshaw makes his debut on Council House Recordings. Mark is a fellow hardware freak with an impressive collection of vintage analog synths and dusty drum machines. It is these old, gritty machines that give Mark’s productions their sound. The release includes two originals by Mark and remixes by Martin De Brig and Liliths’ Dusky.
Justin Berkovi – Drive [ART-DDS8]
Justin Berkovi delivers 2 heads down mid-tempo Techno dance tracks for his ART debut. Clean, crisp production with thunderous low end characterise both tracks. The title track Drive delivers its power via modulating synth stabs, whilst When I Throw Down commands the dancefloor with its demonic vocal.
Johannes Volk – The Lost Signals [EXP003]
Somewhere between Detroit and Far Away Galaxies, Exploration brings you three pieces of electronic music. The title track is a hypnotic stomper for the peak time, designed for these magic moments on the dancefloor. The b-side contains two deeper cuts, full of raw grooves, synth riffs and sound research!
VA – Vanguard Sound Vol. 3 [VS001]
There’s some serious ruffness to this breakout four track compilation from the shadowy Vanguard Sound collective. The Detroit roots of the label shine through, not least on Amir Alexander’s tough, haunting jacker “Violence”. Militant samples and scuffed arpeggios scream Motor City from the off, much like the stripped sci-fi techno of Chris Mitchell. DJ Spider’s “Tribal Mechanism” creates an industrial nightmare out of a rootsy percussion premise, and Hakim Murphy excels with a stalking slice of stripped down menace, capitalising on a broken kick pattern to deadly effect.
Kyle Geiger – Imperial EP [CUB001]
Strong debut release of this new label. Epic techno tracks with energy and great tension that manage to keep a nice the energy high without loosing the nice groove.
Peter Van Hoesen – Transitional State EP [T2X19]
Peter Van Hoesen’s last solo output on Time To Express dates back from March 2010 with his seminal Entropic City album. After a string of remixes and collaborations Peter provides his own label with a new solo EP. The Transitional State EP presents four brand new tracks, each distinctly different from what has come before.
Jeroen Search & Isaev – Select Series #2 [DLRV002]
Deeplab by Luke Hess comes with this split release that sees Jeroen Search on the A-side with Ball Masque, a raw and analog soulful dancefloor monster. On the B-side Isaev brings a futuristic masterpiece cut from his home in Russia.
Roberto Bosco – Figure SPC L [FIGSPCL6]
Roberto Bosco is back for his third offering for Figure SPC, with a future-classic 4 track techno EP, intelligent and sensitive. Easing us into the thick of it, ‘Charming Noise’ takes humming, rumbling bass tones and a metallic clang as its themes. Slow burning and readily effective, its a brooding monster for the late hours. ‘I Just Can’t Breathe’ pushes the adrenalin up a few notches in a screaming, white noise attack on the senses. Bosco’s trademark heavy bass rumble and crisp percussion layers hold their own in this reduced killer. We’re then ready to embark on an emotional voyage as the masterful ‘See The Light’ emerges from the depths with its pushing acid bass and beautiful atmospheric melody. Classic strings and synths swirl and build in a tender and heartfelt piece of timeless techno. Closing the EP, ‘I Was Lonely’ takes the vibe into more reduced, after-hours zones with Roberto’s cool and low-slung take on the smoother sound of future-deep house.
G-Man & Rob Strobe – Acrophobia [SG1151]
G-Man returns with Robert Hauck aka Rob Strobe to bring forth Acrophobia. A three track dancefloor burner of chord driven pumping techno, the purist Sheffield / Detroit techno kind mixing classic styles of techno into the contemporary field of where techno is at in the present.
