Non Series will reach its fifth anniversary and to celebrate the Spanish label will be releasing a compilation series. Tadeo successfully opens the third and closing part of the compilation with a very strong cut, followed by Eduardo De La Calle’s sophisticated sound, the mesmerising groove of the UK producer Mark Broom and at last, the haunting jams from Aiken.

The dynamic duo Hiver return to the Belgium imprint, Curle Recordings, with their latest EP, entitled ‘Soundescence’. This excellent four-track offering is the Italian pairing’s third EP on Curle. Kicking off the release is the title-named track, ‘Soundescence’, displaying the melodic, psychedelic sound Hiver has been praised for previously. Delicate synth patterns perfectly bled with the understated drums and percussive elements. This ethereal approach to Techno continues on the following deep-groover, ‘One More Snooze’. The B-side opener, ‘Phonotis’, immediately breaks the silence with a steady 4/4 rhythm, seeing a squelchy synth bassline, warm pads and floating atmospheric textures scattered throughout the six-minute number. Closing the EP is ‘Floor Diving’, which once again showcase Hiver’s sleek and seductive style of dance music that is made for the dark, underground clubs of Europe and beyond.
Seattle’s Chris Roman aka 214 joins ranks at Lunar Disko to present the ‘Talus Loop’ EP. 214 has developed into a true master of the atmospheric electro sound, and once again showcases this talent on the ‘Talus Loop’ EP. A fusion of intricately textured techno and electro, combined with lush ethereal soundscapes transport the listener to a far away and otherworldly dimension. Lunar Disko Records returns to action with another label debut featuring Carlow house and techno duo, Tr One. Two of Ireland’s finest DJ’s return to production duties with a supreme house and techno EP. The ‘Chicarlow EP’ features four adventurous analogue jams showcasing Tr One’s love for the sound of Chicago and Detroit. Raw percussion and drum rhythms, fused with the beauty and soul of Chicago and Detroit machine music make for a classic house and techno 12″
Future Sessions with a split EP, featuring two great producers such as G. Marcell and Myles Serge both hailing from the midwest.
The second imprint of Another Earth is upon us and this time it’s all about proper Detroit techno combined with distorted left wing machine house. The label combines 2 acts together in a Split EP series which compliment each others sound. For the A-side Plural created 2 essential Detroit techno tracks. The A1 is a warm uplifting peak time bomb and the A2 has a darker vibe concentrated on the groove. The B-side hosts 2 tracks from the intriguing mind of Hakim Murphy. The B1 is a heavy distorted peak time house banger while the B2 is quite the opposite, deep and obscure.
This EP represents a further manifestation of sound-expression over sound-design. Each track has it’s own characteristics. It’s a symbiotic EP which combines vintage analogue gear with live digital effects; everything is done in a moment – manipulating things that you can’t calculate but feel.
When the duo Skudge started out in late 2009 with their first release on Alphahouse, followed by a string of underground hits on their own label Skudge Records, little did they know that they would be in the forefront of the Stockholm sound of the dawning 2010’s. The complex rhythm textures combined by a echoing audial lightness that still runs unparalleled, paired with sub intense quick basslines and swirling percussion has been the trademark. This updated take on the techno and house crossover of today got appreciated and caught the attention of a full spectrum of artists. With a tight release schedule, 2010 alone saw 6 releases from the Skudge hub. Culminating in 2011 with the release of ‘Phantom’, the full length album release on the home imprint, followed by the sub labels that releases other artists as well. Five years from that era, Skudge has reshaped into the solo work from one of the original artists. This change of production and artistry launches into the crates with the release of the limited full length ‘Balancing Point’ LP. During this time, the sound has shifted into new territory, where the entire A-side acts as the beginning of this grooving whirlpool of a record: quick and immense. The UK influences that was formed in the 90’s, gets picked up and infused through the B-side, ending off in a almost orchestral piece. The delicate subtleness of the second 12′ showcases a familiar coming-of-light type of style that we so much appreciate, firmly ending the long player and leave us sure of the future.

Eduardo makes his return to Nonplus with the Sensitive Compartmented Information EP. Eduardo is one of techno’s most dedicated underground legends and continues on a path unaffected by fads or fashions.
