The Cellar Boyz ‘Pay Me’ is taken from Ben Cenac’s timeless ‘Cozmic House E.P’ on Thug Records. Pay Me which was recorded in 1986 is the only track from the Cozmic House E.P that had available parts. The stems for Deeper & Deeper, Seems To Me & Who Loves You were never recorded. This was due to the fact that all of Ben’s projects through out the ‘90s were tracked MIDI only at mix down, with only the vocals being recorded to tape. Thug would never have had the opportunity to release Ben Cenac’s Cozmic House 12″ if it had not been for Simoncino. Simoncino did all the A&R for the record. A gift not only for Thug but any fans of Ben Cenac’s amazing productions. With that in mind, Simoncino has provided 2 remixed versions of Pay Me, alongside a remix from close friend Nicholas.

There’s a really interesting story behind The Trash Company. A synaesthesia-affected solo artist who’s worked reclusively since the late 70s, his creations have only just begun to be discovered. Sitting right on the fringes of electro, funk and experimentalism; he is genuinely unique. Highlights across this collection of six previously unreleased tracks include the far away croons and whimsical trumpets on “Modern Love”, the sexual rhythmic moans and Dilla-style beats on “Hot Stripper” and, of course, the fuzzy lo-fi bar room blues of the title track.

Split release with Steve Summers and Nick Anthony Simoncino. From NYC to Perugia, via Thug Records comes ‘Brothers From Other Mothers’. Jason Letkiewicz aka Steve Summers kicks things off and delivers 2 signature cuts of sleazy late night coercion with ‘Casual Encounters’ & ‘The Trace’. The flip crosses the Atlantic and lands in a rural stronghold for the underground, Perugia Italy. Simoncino relating 2 equally provocative dark room work outs with ‘Pleasure Zone’ and ‘Battle Of The Pacific’.

Four previously unreleased cuts from the vault of Ben ’Cozmo D’ Cenac, producer of Newcleus, Dream 2 Science, Push/Pull & Sha-Lor. Written in the late 80’s / early 90’s these tracks have been sitting on DAT tapes for over 20 years. The tracks themselves feature Ben’s wife Yvette Cenac aka Vai Cee from Dream 2 Science and Lady E of Newcleus, Gregg Fore aka Buster Fhott from Dream 2 Science and Push/Pull, The Cellar Boyz aka the original Jam-On DJs and finally Shareen Evans. A career musician, Ben’s instrumentation and programming is timeless, its a sound that cannot be replicated.!

As the sun sets on the northern hemisphere summer, Thug Records returns to the confines of underground nightclubs with this warehouse release from Ron Jason. Cosmic Paradise is a pulsating synth driven excursion through space and time. This rave anthem also features 2 versions from Larry Heard, an Underground Remix and a Deep Pass. On the B1, Cosmic Afrika is a straight up dance floor hit, as Ron Jason takes things back to the late 80’s with a nod to the legendary Paradise Garage.

Thug Records returns with a truly unique and special release. Tevo Howard and Nick Anthony Simoncino working together on one of the deepest records this year. Both showcasing their unique take on house music, they are brought together by the devout and seductive vocals of Mark Rogers. Sending a message of love and hope, and reminding us that house music can have a purpose that cuts deeper than just the dancefloor. The double 12″ package provides a selection of original vocal mixes, instrumentals and club ready dubs, ‘The Bass Played a Sad Refrain’ is essential, emotive and timeless.

The debut album from Italian producer Nick Anthony Simoncino. Produced exclusively on analog hardware and recorded to an old cassette tape. This L.P is Simoncino’s ode to early Chicago dance traxxxs. Closing out the L.P is a very special 13min remix from one of house music’s legends, Mr Larry Heard. Timeless house music presented in its most organic form.

Creepy Autograph aka Jimmy Edgar brings classic 90s house with a future funk production style on his new hit single “Curiosityyy” for Thug Records. Suspect takes care of proceedings on the flip with furtive vocal laden smooth electrotech business with “Inurface”. All vocals by Lace.

“This ep written some year and one half ago at Beautiful Granville studio features 3 dance selections, which includes the title track, The Drapes in the Livingroom. Also presented in dance form is the very long awaited Shaquanda, which is often played in my live sets. Here, we have the original and first recording of the track. Last, I am presenting Bedroom Music, which is a track designed to be played in those private moments, as well as within nightclub confines. I simply hope that you’ll find the bump in this one.” Tevo Howard

Remix package of Suspect… not sure who the artists is, but the title suggest it’s another Tevo Howard project?! Retro Chicago tracks with analogue drums and synths.
