Gear appreciating Italian ”Giorgio Luceri” enters the SAFT dome with the machine driven ”Liger EP”. On the opening track ”Liger” Giorgio cleverly paints an elusive ambiance using jumbled drums and an appealing bassline together with a continual synthline that nicely sits on top of the serene pads that give rise to an intense atmosphere. The B1 side opens with similar soothing pads that gradually change when the immense bassline and full bodied kick drum come in. Giorgio again creates a somewhat adverse vibe which helps to give it a hint of lushness. For the B2, Chicago legend ‘Gene Hunt’ contributes with a massive percy remix for ”Liger”. A lot of drum action is present in this club oriented (yet deep) roller.

Hipodrome’s 2013 Review (Part 3 of 3)
Here is the third and final part of my 2013 review, featuring my favorite albums released last year. In the first part of the review, the preferences of hipodrome followers are shown, according to the number of click and stars. In the second part, I presented some of my favorite events and performances from last year.
Now here it comes the serious business. Because there are so many good albums and different genders, I took the same approach as in the 2012’s review.
The list is covering all the genders that I like and post on The Hipodrome Of Music, so I came up with no more than 20 gender lists, going from house to techno, disco and funk to electro and new wave …

Giorgio Luceri – Prophetic Vibes EP [FBNM005]
Fly by Night Music present the next release from Italian producer Giorgio Luceri. Giorgio delivers two sumptuous house tracks here with completely opposite dispositions, the breezin’ Balearic bliss of Prophetic Vibes versus the dark Detroitian dissonance of Woman. Woman, with thudding drums and deep subs setting the picture right away. Warbling synth begin to layer before the crescendo begins with fat analog stabs, rushing synth pads and airy groans. Lastly Kai Alce remixes of Woman. Simple but effective KZR delivers a retro house groove fitted out with lo-fi samples and old school sequenced MPC drum.

Combining classical keys with the old and new sounds of electronic music, he creates an atmosphere perfect for dark club floors, open air festivals, and afterhours. South West Seven – If You Want / Move Back [OTP016]
Northern Irish garage/house duo South West Seven (Ric McClelland and Sean Grieve) make a guest appearance for NYC’s On The Prowl, with remixes by Giorgio Luceri and Club Silencio. “If You Want” gets things moving with a deep house style layered with a big upfront bassline and super lush pads that are straight outta Detroit! Built to please big rooms in the early morning. A2 has Club Silencio showing his remix finesse by adding some organ key stabs in the “Gypsey Women” territory. Proper early 90’s house vibes but still maintaining a modern edge. “Move Back” shifts the mood toward a more disco feel with balaeric style guitars and laid back and groovey bassline. On the remix Luceri adds his music touch while keeping things driving with steady snare fills and old school drums.

A Fistful Of Wax is an extension for some very special projects of deep house Skylax Records’ sub – label Wax Classic. For this first release features 5 fantastic trax done by some of the best Deep House producers at the moment: Girogio Luceri, Jamie Trench, Jackmaster K, Marcoradi and Rio Padice. These tracks are all firmly rooted into the deep house sound. They never settle into one comfortable, predictable groove. Its heady, emotion-rich grooves include warm, melodic two-step and future garage flavas, dubwise slo-mo grooves. It’s eclectic, no doubt, but thanks to those guys warm production and heavy deep vocals, this release will put your hands up in the air marvellously.

On The Prowl appears to be on a roll with it’s new found artists. The A1 track “More Heart” is big, catchy, and totally feel good house vibes with disco styled horn flourishes. The A side inside cut “Basement 6D22” takes us near Kerri Chandler with delayed brassy chord stabbing and long organ pads. Flipping the record over reveals a stunning slo mo disco house workout, filled with jam style organ riffs and amazing synth horn parts. For B2 we get a Perscription style deep house track with all the right dark drifting chords.
