Adapta – MKS-50 Tracks [FR034]
The in 1986 produced MKS-50 synth is a rack-mount version of Roland Corporation’s Alpha Juno. It has the same synth engine and architecture, but with added features like 16 programmable chord memories, the ability to store velocity, volume, panning, de-tune, portamento and other similar parameters within each patch you create. The optional PG-300 gives traditional slider type control of all editable tone parameters which include DCO (digitally controlled oscillators) LFO, bend, ENV, pulse, waveforms, noise, PW/PWM, high pass filter, VCF (filter) with freq/env/res/LFO/kybd, VCA envelope, chorus, and more. Adapta delivers a project based on this legendary MKS-50 synth. Tracks created with technology from the past, aimed for the future.
ITPDWIP – Anachronism EP [FR033]
“An anachronism is a chronological inconsistency in some arrangement, especially a juxtaposition of person(s), events, objects, or customs from different periods of time. The most common type of anachronism is an object misplaced in time, but it may be a verbal expression, a technology, a philosophical idea, a musical style, a material/textile, a plant or animal, a custom or anything else associated with a particular period in time so that it is incorrect to place it outside its proper temporal domain”. Frustrated Funk welcomes Heinz Kammler’s Teleportation Process Detected While In Progress [ITPDWIP] project to it’s roster.
Lost Trax – Life Out Of Balance [FR032]
The Lost Trax project has allegedly been a platform for any number of artists to produce under the cloak of anonymity, all identity shorn so the focus remains on the music. After a clutch of 12″s for Tabernacle at the turn of the decade, Lost Trax was reactivated last year with a contribution to a Shipwrec 12″ and now migrates to Rotterdam’s finest, Frustrated Funk. On the opening title track, “Life Out Of Balance,” Lost Trax display a nervous fidgety energy and a looseness in execution that will sound quite thrilling on the dancefloor, whilst “It’s You” is a muddy yet heavenly cut. Closer “Out From Under” finds crystalline electro rhythms caked in thick tape hiss too.

Cultured Dutch label Shipwrec is to team up with Frustrated Funk to release ”North Bend”, a new album by 214 aka Chris Roman. The album features atmospheric techno ambient with scattered beats, lush electro that is filled with true electronic soul and cosmic soundscapes that come from another world. This album is furthering Roman’s own signature sound as well as a new and subtly evolved brand of electro that builds on a rich history of electronica. It’s another fine statement that reminds us just why Roman, the Frustrated Funk and Shipwrec families, are such puristic minds that push music from the heart.

Versalife – Collision With The Past I [FR029]
Sometimes people from different environmental backgrounds cross paths with one another through similar interests, and they notice that they have more in common then a certain taste in music alone. Boris Bunnik (aka Conforce) is hailing from the small scenic Dutch island Terschelling, that can be seen as the complete opposite environmental background as the dirty streets of Rotterdams South Side that drew the first guidelines for Frustrated Funk’s watchword: Mad Drama From Everyday Life. Although the background is opposite, the drama and struggle of daily life seem to have more similarities then one would expect. Struggling creative minds searching for correct paths, fighting to keep focused with daily routines, burning ships, moving forward, trying to bend negativity into something positive, writing music as an outlet for their compulsive need to create. This is our game. No hits, no hype, no bullshit, just the real deal, bringing timeless techno from the heart that will always stay untouched. So here’s FR029, experimental techno from the young master mind thats Versalife.
Heinrich Dressel – Waterproof Theory [FR028LTD]
The limited series of Frustrated Funks ever growing catalog now sees MinimalRome chief Heinrich Dressel explore aquatic territories below the surface of mud streams that rise high in the Apennine Mountains and flow to find their way to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Ancient legends of the Tiber River tell stories like the one of Rome’s founders, the twin brothers Romulus and Remus, who were abandoned on it’s waters and where they were rescued by a mystic she-wolf. Dressel tries to capture these great legends that lurk in the depth and surround the Roman area. Great music comes from great minds. Great minds are inspired by great stories. And no technical application can count or analyze the importance of that.

Frustrared Funk presents a new release by Boris Bunnik aka Conforce as Versalife, featuring 6 deep electro detroit infected tracks.
Ovatow – In Loving Memory of Juvenile Jay [HCS1000]
Ovatow drops 3 extremely deep journeys into the fog of endless re-verb and delay applications. ‘Flame’ and ‘A Thought’ are 2 electro-techno tracks that are both build on randomly step-sequenced square bass lines, raiser sharp snares and dubbed out melodies drowned in layers of breathing dusty tape delays. ‘Visitation Dub III’ is a different version of an Ovatow track, earlier released as part of the ‘Viewpoints Chapter One’ compilation, but this time stripped down to the core bass line, reminiscing BC’s ‘Presence’. The release is dedicated to the loss of South Rotterdam based DJ Juvenile Jay who played an important roll in the early DJ career of Frustrated Funk’s head honcho Klen, the man behind the Ovatow moniker.
