Hesperius Draco – Actus Tragicus LP [FRV023-2LP1]

Frigio release the first album from Alessandro Parisi’s sepulchral dwelling pseudonym Hesperius Draco. Donning the ceremonial robes, the conventions of house, techno and horror soundtracks are blurred as past, present and future merge. Stalking darkness and light, bordering the divine and profane, “Actus Tragicus” pulls the dancefloor into the murky shadows of Rome. Ritualistic chants, chilling choirs and hissing beats are brewed across two slabs of vinyl. BPMs dip and rise as Hesperius Draco takes you on a winding journey through the catacombs of his world.
Alessandro Parisi – Naonian City Nights [CHAR008]

Alessandro Parisi is casting off for his debut on Charlois. The Italian is setting out his stall with a five tracker. Honeyed bars are cut by sharp percussion as the brooding “Meduna Waves” opens. Space soaked synthlines coil around a pulsing drum for the slow burning “Cosmica 1999.” The flip sees a wave edge enter. Cascading chords and a bolstered beats form the pain streaked beauty of “Fear and Money Never Had.” “Exhibition of Love” is brimming with meaty snares biting into thick strings combined in a power filled piece. Parisi illustrates his enviable talent throughout, a talent that comes to the fore with the arpeggiated intensity of “Virtualand.”
Dynamite Winter Palace – The Catechism Of A Revolutionary [KAP001]

Blood is thicker than water and eventually long time friends Bordello A Parigi and Knekelhuis pageant a solid piece of music together. Alessandro Parisi also known as Hesperius Draco from Portenone – Italy – and London based Timothy J Fairplay found themselves in the middle of an ice cold world, opening their wintery project with the “Romance” soundtrack. The warm synth lines will single handedly set Moscow’s frozen red square on fire. The Italian soundtrack synthesisers will touch the trans-siberian world and end with a slow burner named “What Is To Be Done”.

Hesperius Draco – Northern Sages EP [FRV019]

Frigio Records are delighted to announce that Alessandro Parisi is once again donning the darkened robes of Hesperius Draco. Following the acclaimed Cathar Rhythms this supremely talented Italian artist delivers. The five track mini-album continues the Draco search to balance tainted techno, sinister synth and soulful sounds. The underhanded rumblings of “Tronitum Domini” introduces before filth encrusted bass blurs the menacing visage of “Mjolnir”, claps scarring the already grimacing sounds. To end the first side, the medieval blast of “ASI Kingdom (Mitt Hjerte)” is track that surely won’t pass unnoticed. Skies crack with thunder by analogue alchemist Drvg Cvltvre on this interesting remix of “Fenrir Eye” which original version ends the release with Blackened clouds build for the intense and tapering approach.

Hesperius Draco – Cathar Rhytms LP [FRV016]

Few newcomers have created that stir that Italy’s Alessandro Parisi has caused. Following releases on Lux Rec, Minimal Rome and Flight Recorder this young producer has captivated audiences with his textured electronics and vivid soundscapes. It is to this bright talent that Frigio Records have turned to proudly introduce the label’s first full vinyl full length: Cathar Rhythms. Soundtracks have always been a focal point for Parisi, a core of his inspiration. This love of the analogue movie score permeates the six track album, fortified with a new toughened rhythmic edge.
Alessandro Parisi / Adamennon – Il Plenilunio Del Fuoco [FLR009]

“We were lured by the call of the Naught. We bring royal blood to purify the land with the consecration of ancient sages. In the name of the sacred all-glorious crusade, moved by psychokinetic power, we brutally kill as the heavenly dew falls on the battlefield.
We are the fire’s moonlight warriors and this is our holy war.”

Hipodrome’s 2013 Review (Part 3 of 3)
Here is the third and final part of my 2013 review, featuring my favorite albums released last year. In the first part of the review, the preferences of hipodrome followers are shown, according to the number of click and stars. In the second part, I presented some of my favorite events and performances from last year.

Now here it comes the serious business. Because there are so many good albums and different genders, I took the same approach as in the 2012’s review.
The list is covering all the genders that I like and post on The Hipodrome Of Music, so I came up with no more than 20 gender lists, going from house to techno, disco and funk to electro and new wave …
Here we go.
Alessandro Parisi – La Porta Ermetica [GD004]

Giallo Disco Records are proud to present our first release from a non-in-house artist and our first 100% Genuine Italian. Alessandro Parisi, who had previously released through Lux and Minimal Rome. Alessandro’s unique retro-futurist soundtrack re-imaginings are Italian through and through. Armed only with a TR707, Roland JX3P and an old Teac 244 Tape Recorder his music is organic, magickal and scary as hell… Special guest remixer for this release is Brassica (Dissident / Cyberdance / Nocturnes) which sees his cosmified rework of ”Hesperius Draco” as a soundtrack to Timberland attending a voodoo ritual in an abandoned Detroit warehouse.
Alessandro Parisi – Hic Sunt Leones [MROME024]

Hic Sunt Leones is a story about secret ancient technologies coming from pre-human civilization. Sacred steam-cyber punk electronix to describe mystic visions about laser marble, positron iron and extra-dimensional explorers too far from our technology-teenage era. Hindi’s Vimana, Israel’s Ark of the covenant, are just footsteps of what we inherit from our creators. The unknown camouflaged into the holy, the inexplicable into the dangerous: this is the aim of the keepers of our evolution It’s time to explore scary lands and finally tame the lions. MinimalRome is back with this great 8 tracks CD album.

Alessandro Parisi – Draconia [LXRC012]

New album on Lux Rec. Alessandro Parisi recorded this album just with a Roland TR-707 and a Roland JX-3P. The heritage from his home in the northeast of Italy is clearly present in the music of Parisi. Back in the late seventies and early eighties Pordenone was an industrial city with a vivid underground post punk and wave scene. Cold weather electronics. Fog and darkness surrounds the place to this day and deeply pervades this record: the history of a city called Draconia. Who will do wrong shall not be forgiven.
